The strongest opposition to Trans ideology seems to be coming from feminists.

Feminists are appalled that biological men are competing with girls in sports, taking scholarships against girls and entering girls changing rooms.

No, it's definitely the homophobic extremists that are putting out the strongest opposition.

Feminists and many other non-extremists also have the same opinion though, that allowing those born as men to compete with those born as women is an unfair advantage.

According to one CCDH study this year, mentions of the "grooming" narrative more than doubled on Twitter since billionaire Elon Musk's takeover last October. Just five prominent accounts notorious for promoting this falsehood were estimated to generate $6.4 million annually for Twitter in ad revenues, the study said.

It is all corporate speak to divide class consciousness and create even more narrow identity groups to direct hate at.

And in these culture wars you can see which politicians are taking up the banner.

Not even close in my experience.

The far more prevalent and much less intelligent opposition comes from the types parroting rightwing podcasts - often word for word.

Absolutely, to a very strong degree.

The worst form of LGBT propaganda is the idea that men and women can change.

3 ( +16 / -13 )

Here's an idea.

If you're gay, lesbian or bi, or even transexual, walk away from that flag and away from the alphabet soup movement. Hit on whatever you want to and live your life without screaming out loud and telling everybody with sirens in multiple colors what you're into and what you believe in. Simply go on with your life. Absolutely no one will care.

But the moment you get into this color wheel and get associated with people who clearly have mental problems, you lose all credibility. And before anyone decides to get offended, by mental problems I do NOT mean trans.

"LGBTQ people"? What are LGBTQ people?

Want more credibility as an organization or (political) movement? Stop adding colors to that flag. Stop adding letters to the alphabet soup.

Here's an example of the mental problems people associated with the alphabet soup (from 1:04 to 1:35):

I really find the fact that the radical Trans lobby won't accept female and girls only safe spaces infuriating

I am not in any way a fire breathing TERF Boudica.

I would not flinch if the next cubical in the restroom was occupied by Trans female.

What I am simply demanding is a place where biological women can relax with there dedicated changing facilities at onsen health spa & hot spring visits without the risk of a non transitioned person creating uncomfortable embarrassment.

Surely it is the conservatives that are much more likely to commit child abuse in all kinds of ways. Isn't that how you turn out conservative?

Trans rights are possibly the most divisive politically toxic incendiary bone of contention in modern human rights political thinking.

This is only the beginning.

A great deal of common sense in the comments under this video.

That's quite a stream of invective. Lucky for you I support your right to free speech and not censorship, so everyone can see what a ridiculous comment that is.

I personally don't care of others' sexual preference and I believe that EVERYONES' human rights should be protected. Nonetheless the LGBTQ community enforcing their chants of "we're coming for your children" and the indoctrination at schools with their sex education and transgender agenda in the workplace is what really gets to me and probably the rest of the surrounding communities. I'm glad the Tokyo Education elite won't allow the same level of indoctrination in the public schools here in Japan.

Disinformation? Nope, sorry. I've seen enough of this nonsense and I've made up my own mind. Good try, but no.

11 ( +17 / -6 )

Pride is about adults being secure in their personal sexual choices. Children are not able to identify with their own sexuality because they're not yet biologically developed to do so. It's not a new concept and parading around a child in drag is incredibly pedophilic. Watch out LGBTQIA2S+, the P is coming. Hence articles like this one grooming readers into sympathizing with the grotesque exploitation of children.

Want just one example of what's scary about these extremists? 44% of Millennials thinks misgendering should be a criminal offense. https://www.newsweek.com/misgendering-should-crime-according-millennials-1813178

Aside from extreme positions such as this is the obvious hypocrisy - if I can change my gender based on how I feel, why can't I change my race? Especially since race has always been a much more fluid and difficult-to-define trait than gender.

Ah but quoting from that report -

However the figure for millennials contrasts starkly with that for Americans as a whole, among whom just 19 percent want misgendering to be a criminal offense, whilst 65 percent disagree, 12 percent "neither agree nor disagree" and four percent answered "don't know."

so there are still many right-minded people who are not taken in by this nonsense.

Garthgoyle,

Thanks for the link. Very interesting. One of the comments that really stood out for me was this one:

“I’m a detrans female. Seeing these thousands of individuals spewing the same talking points and stories I shared as a young, confused, and very miserable teenager is heartbreaking. These poor people need thorough treatment from real psychologists, not activists. Has everyone forgotten that gender dysphoria is a MENTAL ILLNESS? Not your “true self,” not “living your trans youth.” This is what happens when you’re raised by gullible, cowardly activist parents that have no concern for their child’s underlying issues.”

7 ( +12 / -5 )

Oh, I thought physical, emotional, spiritual (even sexual) abuse was baked in. I always treat conservatives as if this is so anyway, and they seem to warm to it, even be proud of it.

The lies people are telling about LGBTQIA people need to stop.

-5 ( +6 / -11 )

The worst form of LGBT propaganda is the idea that men and women can change.

If you mean men can become women and women can become men, yes.

However, I’d call it T propaganda. Leave gays, lesbians, and bis out of it.

So much righteous indignation just because noone raises a helpful "IT'S SARCASM, STUPID!" sign.

> The LGBTQ isn't a spectrum

Actually, it is more than that. So far, the flag has 11 different colors and they keep adding more.

Disinformation is an understatement.

The biggest image problem trans and gay people have is the loonie LGBTQAI movement being associated with them. That makes their condition seen like a mental health issue. They would be much better served by a different association altogether.

Too true, The trans extremists want to lump in everyone in their beastly group but most gay people just want to live their lives. They want to lie hair lives and especially the Oder ones know what real discrimination is and fought to make things better.

‘These newby trendsetting Trans they/them seem to just want to annoy decent people who are minding their own business and don’t care about that they/them lark

0 ( +5 / -5 )

The disinformation comes amid a sharp spike in anti-LGBTQ rhetoric. That includes false claims -– amplified by conservative influencers -- linking the community to pedophilia, a barrage of anti-transgender bills introduced by U.S. lawmakers and right-wing boycotts that have targeted brands such as Target over their support of LGBTQ causes.

For way too long people have gotten away with lying about LGBTQIA and speading hate against them. It's resulting in increased attacks and discrimination.

Is this the world we want to live in? Where people routinely spread hate via lies?

2 ( +6 / -4 )

Nihon Enigma,

Are you in support of using actual children as the poster children for adult sexuality displays? That's what this article promotes. This article is itself the reason why people conflate pro-LGBT activists as pedophile groomers. Leave kids out of it.

0 ( +7 / -7 )

Jeffb

Some of them are groomers and hide behind the flag of assumed tolerance that means their true desires cannot be questioned for fear of being branded bigots or Nazis.

The developements in the story are disagreeable, but are par for the course for all political movements.

Do LGBT seriously think any other pressure group has their cause fairly represented?

Anyone wanting a fairer society for the past 100 years has been dismissed as a "communist". Any American wanting health care is shouted down with "that's socialism!", whatever that is supposed to mean. Gun control is an attack on "freedom". Anyone who opposes war is "weak". Women wanting more rights will be dismissed using all kinds of unfavourable terms (which I won't repeat). Politics is a dirty business where people fight dirty, making false claims about the other side. The story is just about LGBT being welcomed to the club.

My personal favourite misrepresentation is people (who have zero knowledge of the history of political protest) claiming Just Stop Oil's methods are disagreable and will not work. The history of political protest tells us that non-violent disruption is in fact extremely successful. People are being taught to hate on them because society and the media are controlled by people who profit from oil. That's all.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

That's abhorrent.

However, the question has to be asked as to why this disinformation and attacks are occurring, and it's pretty clear that a lot of people are very concerned about the militancy and aggression with which aspects of the LGBTQ etc etc movement's agenda are being forced onto the broader community. The whole 'You either accept our ideas or you are a bigot' is abject nonsense, and the exact opposite of diversity and inclusivity. Ironically, it's a completely binary mindset.

Communities and societies need time to discuss, debate, ponder and consider ideas before they accept them, and I think generally most contemporary societies as a whole are pretty fair minded in this regards. Give it time, allow ideas and concepts to gain traction and acceptance. I can say with absolute certainty that acceptance of homosexual rights has shifted significantly in my lifetime, which is a pretty short timeframe, which is great.

But just because somebody thinks they are entitled to something, or has an idea that they want broadly implemented and thinks everyone else must accept as a reality, is absolute nonsense, and this is where the LGBTQ+ movement has run itself into trouble. This is why you are seeing this backlash. There is an immature, petulant, self-absorbed feel to it that makes people uncomfortable.

Frankly, I know a lot of very reasonable, open minded people who either have serious concerns about aspects of their agenda, or outright reject them. Clearly there's a significant number here at JT as well.

Take the pronoun thing as an example. It seems that a lot of people are generally supportive of the idea that if someone's gender identity if commonly confused for whatever reason and they feel the need to clarify that through the use of pronouns, fine, go right ahead. But to then demand that everyone else, 99% of whom have never once in their life been confused for the other sex, do the same think because it's 'inclusive', is absolute nonsense. You can't demand people do that and then try to call them bigots if they don't. The logic is pure comedy.

So, in order for this debate and push for social change to gain a more organic and balanced middle ground, it needs to be scaled back on both sides, to give people time to think and contemplate what is best for everyone.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Nihon Enigma,

It's confusing because the narrative dictates that for one to be sympathetic to the discrimination against gays and lesbians, one must support everything that is pushed by the LGBTQIA... blah blah whatever. Using a child's face to falsely promote an anti-LGBT agenda is wrong. Using a child dressed in drag to promote pro-LGBT agenda is also wrong, that's my point. The reason his face was used in the hateful material at all is because he's being used as a poster child for sexualizing children.

Correct old top

Kids shouldn't be involved in this as they're too young to know what is best fort them and can easily be manipulated.
