Another article on the atomic bombs.

What does that make now?

2 yesterday, two the day before at least 1 to 2 each day since the start of these G7 meet-a-thon.

Are we going to get time off in August?

Force Job Biden to watch through it.

Looking backwards at history doesn't help with the future but lessons need to be learnt. No mention is ever made here about the reasons for the dropping of the bomb. I do agree there was no need to drop a second one. More time should have been given for the full impact of the first bomb to be analysed by the leaders in Japan.

As soon as china includes the history of why they invaded Tibet and killed thousands of nuns & monks.

As we are the only nation to have been nuked, its a responsibility and opportunity to show others the horrors of nuclear bombs.

While being the victim of the bombing, the circumstances also had a lot to do with Japan’s military leadership who killed their own people, slaughtered other Asians, and tried (like the west succeeded in) to colonize their neighbors.

The result was the worlds two most powerful nations trying to annihilate Japan at the exact same time.

I’m sure the souls of the thousands of civilians - including innocent children, rest more comfortably knowing there was a “why” for their deaths.

Hey everyone, pack your bags! We are going on a guilt trip! History without context is pointless.

Hats off to Hiroshi Yamaguchi. May hundreds of additional like minded entrepreneurs arise. This VR demonstration is only the smallest taste of what horrific insanity awaits the human race as frquent nuclear saber rattling by major powers becomes the norm.

Does that include the hundreds of thousands of civilians in Nanjing, Manila, those used for biological warfare tests, the victims of poison gas shells including today because Japan never did it duty to remove millions of shells in China?

How about the victims of these guys.

Yeah we hear a lot about Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but mostly denial and victimhood from Japanese, the number one thing I hear is

"it was the Japanese government and imperial army, we had no choice"

That is the mantra of the Japanese on any given day.

This was drilled into them by the government since the end of the war and they now believe it.

Unlike China and South Korea, the majority of Japanese people have no intention of asking the United States for apology or compensation, except for some crazy people.

However, Japan surrendered after atomic bombs were dropped on the United States.

Or that the school teaches that millions of American soldiers were saved from the atomic bombings, and I would like to dispute this.

The direct surrender of Japan was due to the Soviet entry into the war against Japan.

Moreover, in Japan, whose infrastructure had already been completely destroyed by the United States, it was not until many years after the war that the power of the atomic bomb became clear.

The commander, General MacArthur, said that one atomic bomb would suffice, but President Truman used two, one of uranium type and the other of plutonium type.

Conversely, during the Korean War, General MacArthur asked the Chinese military for permission to use the atomic bomb, but President Truman did not allow it.

The use of nuclear weapons clearly violates the Geneva Conventions, to which the United States is a signatory. Japan had also started development, but there was no means of transportation like the B29, and even if development had been completed earlier, it would not have been possible to use it.

Some argue that if Japan had finished developing it, it would have used it, but after America developed it, Russia stole American technology and successfully developed it, but did nuclear war occur?

After the United States used the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it conducted a survey, but the sheer number of casualties and cruel deaths forced Japan to use them to surrender. After the war, propaganda was launched saying that it was to prevent American soldiers from becoming victims.

There is no material that specifically predicts the number of casualties after landing in Japan during the war.

The more brutal the Japanese military, the more conspicuous the justice of the American people.

Where is that written?

Can you point to the section where it says that?

Let me answer for you.

No you can't because that is a false statement.

After the United States used the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it conducted a survey, but the sheer number of casualties and cruel deaths forced Japan to use them to surrender. After the war, propaganda was launched saying that it was to prevent American soldiers from becoming victims.

This is along the same lines as the revisionist history and conspiracy theories that the USA Let their fleet get blasted in pearl harbor in order to have a reason to enter the war.

If it knew only one or 2 ships would have sufficed.

Next the USA only declared war on Japan so had Germany not declared war on the USA, it would not have a reason to be involved in Europe.

See how real facts work and not false revisionism.

Japan's government at that time tried to cover up the bombing of Hiroshima, Everyday thousands were being killed. It was quite obvious that Japan would not surrender ( and were getting closer to developing their own nuclear fusion) therefore a second bomb had to be dropped. Mission accomplished, the war ended days later.

The people who r asking here why there is no mention here about why the bomb was dropped.

Simply because there is no justification whatsoever to drop an atomic bomb on women ,children and elderly who are just going on with their daily life.

And till today there is no sign of regret or remorse or even an apology for the horrible things that u v committed .

If u v is the US, we don't ask for an apology from Japan and they shouldn't ask for an apology from us.

The direct surrender of Japan was due to the Soviet entry into the war against Japan.

Not entirely and it is debatable even the majority. The emperor's speech mentions the bombs but not the Soviets.

Or that the school teaches that millions of American soldiers were saved from the atomic bombings, and I would like to dispute this.

Oh really, you think Japan was going to surrender to the US without an an invasion? I guess you believe they would have surrendered to the Soviets, but this would just be exchanging one group of criminals with another.

The use of nuclear weapons clearly violates the Geneva Conventions, to which the United States is a signatory.

The Fourth Geneva Convention hadn't been signed yet, but thank you for playing.

After the war, propaganda was launched saying that it was to prevent American soldiers from becoming victims.

Yeah, well, propaganda works pretty well when it is true.

-2 ( +3 / -5 )

Nice toy, now can you make it narrate the ENTIRE history of what led up to the USA having unleashed such a powerful weapon against the general population?….we’ll wait

-4 ( +5 / -9 )

I do really feel for the true victims of the bombings (the civilian population) but their deaths are just being exploited by the government every year. The G-7 is here so time to show humble superiority by using omotenashj and this VR will help with the annual victimhood thing. It's not even close to August yet but anytime is the right time I guess.

@Agent Neo

The direct surrender of Japan was due to the Soviet entry into the war against Japan.

No it wasn't. The emperor, the one man who made the decision, mentioned specifically the nuclear weapons in his surrender speech explaining his decision to end the war. He also confided to Grand Chamberlain Fujita in 1946 that the US aerial bombings were his prime consideration when deciding on surrender. The Soviet entry was a consideration, but a secondary one.

but President Truman used two...

OK now some context: That decisions was based on a recommendation of Truman's interim council of scientific, geopolitical and military experts, who believed one would not have been enough to convince Japan that the US had the ability to continue to continue bombings -- and that surrender was Japan's only option. Truman accepted the recommendation with no amendments.

I saw this VR experience. Very outdated, poorly optimized, super corny. I guess for some 60-80 year olds as their first VR experience it might be mind blowing, but to most it'll probably just be seen as another video game, or poorly animated 3d reenactment.

Every world leader that possesses nuclear weapons should be required to do this.
