64-year-old man arrested after calling police to say he forcibly kissed girl in park

Police in Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture, have arrested a 64-year-old man on suspicion of indecent assault after he forcibly kissed a junior high school girl at a park on Sunday and then called police later in the day to reported what he had done.

This is the first alleged sexual assault case in Tokushima Prefecture since Japan reformed its penal code in mid-July to impose stricter penalties on sexual offense acts, Kyodo News reported.

Police said the unidentified male suspect approached the girl who was sitting on a park bench at around 9 a.m. He forcibly kissed her and grabbed her buttocks. The girl was not physically injured and reported the incident to her parents, police said.

The suspect called Tokushima Chuo Police Station from a pay phone at 3:30 p.m. and said he would turn himself in.

The suspect called Tokushima Chuo Police Station from a pay phone at 3:30 p.m. and said he would turn himself in.

By turning self in he saved many innocent people from being falsely taken as potential suspect by officer.

He probably wants a free lunch in jail.

Calling from a payphone rather than a mobile. I wonder if he is homeless and looking for a place to live.

I hope I dont do that when Im his age. Scary.

What's scary is you think it might be a possibility.

Hope has nothing to do with it. Nor does age, especially only 64yo.

How about you just decide not do it because it's wrong.

He must have realized he was certain to be identified. It doesn't sound like there is any real attraction when adults do this with children. It is about exerting power over an innocent who cannot fend for themself.

After doing the absolutely wrong thing, he did the absolutely right thing. The first one is to be reviled but the second one commended in context. Throw the book at him anyway. Absolutely no excuse or tolerance for his first action.

What was the punishment for his bad behavior?

Has this guy ever grown up? Oh I know, he's a Japanese counterpart to Donald Trump.

At least he isn't bragging about this uncouth perverse stunt.
