As the only nation in the world which has experienced atomic war, it's symbolically important for Japan to maintain a position of peace and to condemn the use of nuclear weapons.

G7 doesn’t represent World… it represents only American vision of the World.

The biggest countries like India, Russia, China wasn’t there and they are nuclear power…

Soon UN will be replaced by the BRICKS and the NATO (G7) will have no more liability in this world

Sorry but if you are still alive 85 years after the event, I think it is fairly safe to say it probably didn't cause any major health problems.

Many survivors of the atomic bombing had lifelong health problems even if they lived to 85. I have one very close friend who is a survivor from Nagasaki and in his 80s and still working at his company but he also had health issues.

Another person from Hiroshima also now in her 80s was badly burned from the bombing and needed lifelong treatment.

False nonsense and uneducated comment

Lololol. "If I jump up and down hard enough, it won't be true".

oh and by the way the percentage of BRICS is already larger than the OECD and more members are rapidly joining . Big players extremely wealthy in resources.

BRICS gdp is 32.5%. So sad. 32.5%

32.5% is less than 40%

Not to mention it was the US that committed the atomic atrocities against Japan.

The educated realize that the atomic bombings didn't occur in a vacuum and enemies can become friends when they realize who the real threat is.

In other words, the world does not regard Japan as a victim.

It always convenient when people advertise their complete historical ignorance like boy scout badges.

Still hating Japan?

93 nations have attended the Hiroshima ceremonies over the years. That's because unlike you, they recognize that the the A-bomb droppings should be memorialized to reflect the universal hope that mankind will never use such weapons against themselves again. The "victims" were civilians, old men, women and children.

And cashed those monthly checks from the government, while getting wheeled out every time the government wants to generate sympathy. Meanwhile Tokyo firebomb victims who were equally injured get sweet nothing.

There are many US military survivors of Japanese attacks.

Injury by bullet, bayonet, or bomb is the same.

Yes, but the article and post by Mr Kipling are not that. Just another targeted post. You didn't respond to Mr. Kipling's post.

That is different than your previous comment. You believe the atomic bomb victims should not have received financial aid even as well as the health issues they were discriminated against for many reasons.

The Tokyo firebombing victims survived a horrendous experience. Do you think they should have received aid? They were not discriminated against like the atomic bombing victims.

There are many US military survivors of Japanese attacks.

But hardly any civilians of old age, women and children if any. So that's a piss poor comparison.

Not really. No government is going to value foreign civilians more highly than their own soldiers, especially pre-Fourth Geneva Convention. The US was going to take the option that didn't result in half million US dead.

Nice of you to completely ignore the dictatorship brigade and their huge arsenal.

Yes they do. But only because autocracies like Russia and China feel it's perfectly fine to invade or threaten other countries.

The fact that the right-wing government, non-government, and corporate forces in the United States are so keen to promote neo-accelerationism is one of the results of the inability and lack of effectiveness of the left.

USA leaders should of been hung for what they did. But I’m a vegetarian.
