The fact that these African countries openly defied NATO and Zelensky and travelled to Moscow to meet Putin says a lot.

It doesn't have the capacity to ensure the grain hits the market. Last year 60 percent of Ukraine's exports were shipped via solidarity lanes while 40 percent went via the Black Sea.

And Russia is a bigger exporter in the first place; if they cared about Africa they wouldn't block exports from there - hypocrites on two counts.

China in 2017 sold just over 781,000 tonnes of rice to almost 40 African countries including Ivory Coast and Senegal.
