Posted in: Japan considering restricting senior citizens’ access to ATMs See in context

In this context, the intention behind restricting ATM access for senior citizens could be to limit their exposure to potential scams that exploit their vulnerabilities. Striking the right balance between protecting vulnerable citizens and safeguarding their independence and financial rights will be crucial in formulating effective and fair policies. Additionally, providing support and resources to help seniors adapt to digital banking technologies could be a more inclusive approach rather than restricting their access outright. The government should consider alternative ways to address concerns while ensuring that the needs and rights of senior citizens are met and respected.

To clarify, the discovery of coronaviruses dates back to the 1960s. The first human coronavirus, known as B814, was discovered in 1965. Coronaviruses were known to cause mild respiratory infections in humans, typically associated with the common cold. But, the specific coronavirus responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic, SARS-CoV-2, is a novel strain of coronavirus that was first identified in December 2019.

My concern about the proper allocation of taxes and how they are used to fund public services is a constant issue. Many people share similar sentiments, especially when they perceive inefficiencies or mismanagement in government spending. Government is way too big, and take too much money - not to mention waste too much money as well. It is not my duty nor my obligation to fund ineffective government structure. They can very well downsize, they can provide us with the essential services that they were mandated to provide us in the first place.

Posted in: Japan to ban used car exports to Russia as part of extra sanctions See in context

Once more, Japan finds itself in a difficult situation. Russia seems unfazed by Japan's car embargos. If the situation escalates, the devaluation of the US currency and the BRICSS global oil redeployment could force Japan (specifically the LDP) to depend heavily on Russia and Saudi Arabia for fossil fuel securities, potentially putting them in a position of seeking assistance on their knees.

Posted in: NATO leaders send mixed messages in Japan office controversy See in context

Japan is a significant strategic partner for NATO due to its geopolitical importance in the Asia-Pacific region. Opening an office in Japan would facilitate closer cooperation, information sharing, and coordination on security and defense matters between NATO and Japan. By having a presence in Japan, NATO can actively engage with regional stakeholders, exchange expertise, and contribute to enhancing regional stability and security, and by establishing an office in Japan, NATO officials can work closely with Japanese authorities to share best practices, conduct joint exercises, and develop strategies to address common security challenges, including humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations. It would serve as a platform to deepen understanding and cooperation between NATO and Japan at a political level.

Posted in: Top central bankers assert need for higher interest rates to tackle persistent inflation See in context

Facing economic problems now is the least of our worries. Prices raised by capitalists, poor commoners go bust simply because they are unable to afford it, and this leads to the word "inflation". Most people will run to pay less causing the issue of "quality" settling for things that won't last long and thereby discovering, like poor folks do, that if you pay less - that lower quality in the long run - it may very well cost people to pay more.

Rising prices for the things people purchase is just as devastating as getting less in wages - a cut in income pay means people cannot afford items, but rising prices means exactly the same thing. Society has ways to protest a wage cut, but how do people protest a price increase. Welcome to the free enterprise that enables employers to jack up prices without taking any responsibility for the social consequences over the price setters.

The way I see it...is the perception of Japan as a welcoming and inclusive society. Some potential foreign workers may still perceive Japan as relatively closed off to outsiders, leading to concerns about discrimination or difficulties in social integration. Improving efforts to promote inclusivity and cultural understanding could help address this perception.
