There’s no such thing as AI.

A robot controlled by software written by a human is not AI. Really don't understand the obsession here.

There’s no such thing as AI.

They are LLM's (Large language Models) and true AI may not be necessary for dominance.

It's not an 'abstract concept' at all... it's very simple: my business is not your business.

But if your activities affect me, I'd say it's also my business.

Intelligence is defined as 'the ability to acquire and apply knowledge and skills.'

AI systems perform tasks that normally require human intelligence. The systems aquire knowledge and skills through training. Humans make and train the systems, so they are artificial.

Hence artificial intelligence.

Hooray!

AI is very much "Ah, Eh?" .. It's pretty much over hyped and let down by the likes of large Corporations such as Apple.... whose "Siri", hasn't really done anything more than what was available back in the 1980's on old my BBC Micro Computer... which says a lot for those Cambridge chaps.

Seriously though, "AI" is a very loose term, all encompassing - a bit like "IT" is/was - and I sort of cringe at it's use these days...

That’s correct everyone, AI is a big overhyped fake, in line and good accompaniment with DX, GX, crypto coins etc. Well, I understand that a lot of people are involved and for many it’s their only income and daily job, guaranteeing monthly salary cheques and covering living expenses and so on, but that doesn’t make it any better. They lie to themselves and others only.
