With the warm summer days upon us, parks and campsites all over Japan have started to fill up with barbecue parties, picnics and beer gardens. It’s that time of year when it’s all about staying outdoors, enjoying nature and spending time with friends and family.
While others invest in top-of-the-line camping or outdoor equipment, why not take the Doshisha “Silk Bubble” beer server to your next outing? Set to go on sale from May 25, this beer server uses ultrasonic waves at 40,000 per minute that guarantees creamy beer froth every time.
You won’t need to wash it since it doesn’t come in direct contact with the beer. It also be used as a beer can opener and comes with a strap to carry your beer around. The device is also battery powered so no need to worry about charging it to last all day.
It works with most Japanese beer brands like Suntory, Asahi or Sapporo.
Priced at ¥3,278 buy it online at https://www.doshisha-marche.jp/c/lifestyle/HO-4550557333121

Never understood the fixation with the foam top but for some people it is a huge part of the experience of drinking a good beer. I guess this is a good compromise to have the small luxury without having to carry around a much bigger server, specially for those that plan to drink alone or in small numbers.

It differs with cultures, countries and even regions. Some want a big head, some want none at all. Japan being all about aesthetics wants a ridiculous amount of foam on their beers. And Japan being Japan, it goes a step further and wants its foam "silky smooth", which is regularly achieved with a dedicated foaming apparatus That's why there's a plethora of "beer foaming" gadgets (check your local Donki), universally cheap, universally pointless beyond the novelty value.
One of the more interesting variants of those gadgets. Nothing new, though, those have been around for a decade or so. Interestingly also featured on this here website:

Kinda like wearable binoculars, I'd be embarrassed to be seen with this.

What about washing off the bacteria on your hands.

Japan has a gadget for that, too. It's called "soap and water".

Talk about a solution in search of a problem!
All true aficianados drink beer from a glass because they want to see the colour. This is especially important that we now have more ale-type beers. It is inferior to drink direct from the can.

Talk about a product that nobody needs...
