Police said an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

I guess if you're going to die and start decaying, a botanical garden seems to be a good of a place as any.

I think a park visitor found a body and didn't want any involvement. I'm jotting this one down for what to do if I find a body in Japan. That's next level thinking there. Call someone and say "it smells really bad over here, someone on the clock should probably check it out."

I know where you're going with this point and I thought the same. Why would a stranger notify a park employee of a "strange odor" when most people would've just ignored it as they've apparently been for awhile?

Probably because nobody who investigated thinks it was an accident.

If they can't tell the sex of the body, it must've been there for a few weeks to a month and possibly stage 3 of decomposition which is active decay or stage four which is skeletonitation.
