Rational people do not fear scientific information, instead appreciate when something is understood well enough so opportune warnings can be given before a problem becomes important enough. The only people that feel fear from information are those with a deep antiscientific bias.

There is nothing "obvious" about expecting a full influenza season in 3 months, and it is a perfectly valid warning so people can take measures that can limit the risk such as vaccinating.

Other than your personal opinion, no experts believe this.

Tokyo Medical University Prof. Atsuo Hamada, an expert on travel medicine, saying the global flu infection situation has returned to what it was before the spread of COVID-19.

Dr. Hamada was telling the public in general to wear masks at a time the WHO was advising against doing so (and also praising China's handling of the pandemic).
