Perhaps his security can let him experience what a protest that ends up devolving is like.

DeSantis comments are in line with other Republican supporters of Trump who've minimized the attack to varying degrees. DeSantis has been seeking to appeal to Trump supporters as he campaigns for the White House, often portraying Trump as having failed to follow through on his own policies.

DeSantis isn't dumb and he knows Trump is framing the narrative with all the indictments for 2024 as a referendum on 2020 election interference.

No matter how much Trump attacks him he can't contravene that party line.

This is the same schmuck who wants the state to teach kids the "personal benefits" of slavery. Black is white, up is down. Slavery had benefits for the enslaved. Who knew?

Sounds reasonable to me. but Desantis should have waited, he is barely holding 2nd place by now.

Ithe “insurrection” is really being downplayed now that Ray Epps will be sacrificed as “proof”all the prosecutions were “fair”.

I agree.

Ithe “insurrection” is really being downplayed now that Ray Epps will be sacrificed as “proof”all the prosecutions were “fair”.

Bingo!

Losers supporting losers.

Bingo!

Wow. We’re circling back to this nonsense again?

I don’t see the left controlling the narrative on this one. They just have to deal with it

Wow. We’re circling back to this nonsense again?

Heh, Epps is about to be a millionaire, for the same reason Tucker's assistant just got paid $12 million, and for the same reason the voting machine got $787 million. Because fox lies, lies, lies.

I'm ok with that, if it keeps costing them money. The Arizona GOP is bankrupt for helping Kari Lake try to overthrow the election. Pillow guy tried to sell off stuff to cover his company that is collapsing all around him, and no one wanted anything.

If these conservatives are ok with spending their money to pay for their lies, let them do it. More money in democratic pockets.

Interesting, who do you think is in on this conspiracy that you have told us your theory of? And do you think those people are on your 'Trump won in 2020 team' or enemies of it?

I don’t see the left controlling the narrative on this one.

The facts, minus narrative, are that people who invaded the capital were tried and found guilty of seditious conspiracy, which is exactly what defines an insurrection.

Desantis also believes the 2020 elections were a fraud.

What a loser clown..

Which they have a lot of.

The Arizona GOP is bankrupt for helping Kari Lake try to overthrow the election.

Overthrow? Hmmm…

Lindell will be fine. Thank God for investments

If these conservatives are ok with spending their money to pay for their lies, let them do it. More money in democratic pockets.

Lies, hardly, but yeah, as you say, they can spend their money the way they want. Libs can do the same…actually, they do, especially if it’s someone else’s money.

RINO Ron is sinking faster than the Kerch bridge...and is it the "Dems and Libs" that are taking him down?

Nope, two things;

1) Himself - he has the personality of a toaster. The guy comes off as goofy, arrogant, and as honest as a plaid blazer-wearing used car salesman...

2) His fellow Repub Florida resident and opponent. You know, the guy that said he's a "phony", who has filled Florida with "misery and despair" making it "one of the worst states in the US"... Oh, and he also says Ron may be a pervert and "groomer"....

Ron runs around the country with his clown show while Florida residents are facing an insurance crisis...

He's the Repubs 2024 version of another Florida governor - Jeb Bush...and where's he now?

Republicans have first hand experience of devolving in unfortunate ways.

Desantis is the most woke republican out there. There isn't a woke republican canceling as many people out there as Desantis, including Trump. Look at how effectively he's wielding the power of the government against a private entity that slandered him.

The biggest problem for Disantis is people don't like Republicans, and they are tired of the crazies. But, since the early '90s, they have only one a single popular vote. They have only managed to win through gerrymandering, and that one time that Trump found a hole in the system and exploited it. Since Trump is the only one to find a hole, they are all trying to use that same hole. But why would anyone choose someone who can do Trump, when there is still Trump?

Trump is their hail Mary. He's the only one they think can win, and they all know Desantis is too right-wing-woke to be able to win.

Wow. We’re circling back to this nonsense again?

No circling involved. They take the shortest path.

Desantis also believes the 2020 elections were a fraud.

Well if you can believe that enslaving people somehow benefited them then any outrageous belief is possible .....

I don’t see the left controlling the narrative on this one. They just have to deal with it

Multiple Federal Court judges and juries have already verified there was an insurrection by convicting those charged with insurrection and sending them to jail. That there was an insurrection as defined by US law is indisputable. Judges and juries will define the narrative if that is the word for it regarding the several crimes Mr. Trump has been indicted for and the crimes he may yet be indicted for.

Because the judiciary remains independent both parties will have to deal with the outcomes of the upcoming trials.

A protest?! The January 6th mob got closer to overthrowing the U.S. government than the South ever did during the entirety of the Civil War.

7 ( +7 / -0 )

The MAGA intellectual elite can’t decide if it was an insurrection orchestrated by the FBI to install a President they don’t like (???) or if their idols are chilled out tourists who just slipped and accidentally scaled the Capitol walls, smashed windows and doors to get inside, and then forced sitting Congress people and senators to flee for their lives. I mean, we’ve all done that when we’ve tripped over our shoelaces, right?

Definitely not arrogant. Fantastic governor for his State, wouldn’t mind seeing him as President, but the guy needs more time, still support the guy though.

2) His fellow Repub Florida resident and opponent. You know, the guy that said he's a "phony", who has filled Florida with "misery and despair" making it "one of the worst states in the US"... Oh, and he also says Ron may be a pervert and "groomer"....

Ok, that’s his opinion, he can think whatever he wants.

Ron runs around the country with his clown show while Florida residents are facing an insurance crisis...

As if the Dems even care. Lol

He's the Repubs 2024 version of another Florida governor - Jeb Bush...and where's he now?

Making big bucks.

Bass: I don’t see the left controlling the narrative on this one. They just have to deal with it

They're in jail, have been in jail, or are going to jail. That's the narrative.

I'm sure you've invented some imaginary future state where you come out on top as a coping mechanism, so post that and we'll both be happy.
