Twitter’s rebranding is rooted in ambition that Musk began to pursue nearly a quarter century ago after he sold his first startup, Zip2, to Compaq Computer. He set out to create a one-stop digital shop for finance called X.com — an “everything” service that would provide bank accounts, process payments, make loans and handle investments.

Any Musk stans still think he bought Twitter to unleash your freedoms and not to create a Chinese style super app which will also be useful for mass LLM data scraping?

If Johnny Cash were still alive he would have a great song about this X nonsense. Calling your son X. Might as well name him Sue.

Rebranding only works when the leadership is competent. He is not!

I'm still calling it "Twitter" because I'm afraid most people will have no idea what I'm talking about if I call it "X", and it just doesn't sound like a distinctive enough word to stand out in conversation, given how short the name is and how it shares sounds with other words. Why couldn't he have come up with a clearer name like "Facebook" or "PayPal"?

Elon Musk is truly one of the dumbest people alive. And he reinstated the account of someone who he admits posted child pornography on Twitter. Musk is a groomer.

He's on the Autism Spectrum. I'm the parent of a little boy on the Spectrum and see the traits clearly. In some ways he is a brilliant engineer and he has illustrious company in Albert Einstein and Steve Jobs. Where I work an awful lot of our senior scientists and engineers are on medication. Brilliance seems to come with some mental health problems. A common trait of Autism is a lack of self regulation and no sense of how their behaviors affect others. I think Elon Musk's conduct should be viewed in light of his developmental disorder.
