Afterward Elton and Guns and Roses enjoyed a round of Geritol together and swapped tips on keeping their dentures sparkly white.

I have never understood the draw these 'old' festivals have. I woud never go to one or am I interested in the 'old' stars who perform at them. I looked through the list of bands and artistes at this one, my dog, it was some thing like from the 1970's and 80's. What about having 2 of the most famous metal bands in the world right now. ie. Lovebites, and Bandmaid, both are Japanese female bands and are sooooooooo brilliant they woud light up any venue...and they do, every time. Then you could add 'Blackpink' and a few more KPop bands.....But alas, no, just wait until next year, the same old same old, will be dragged out again.

I went to the very first festival on a bean farm and it was free. Several more in the early days of Glastonbury but none since 1990 because it just became too commercial.

I liked old Glastonbury but its basically been rubbish since it went corporate in the 1990s, around Britpop time. Now its just mostly middle class and richer folks pretending to be hippies and doing middle of the road orchestrated karaoke under some flags. There are still interesting things going on at the festival, but they are so marginalized as to be irrelevant. You also have to pay 330 quid a head to see them. You'd be better off seeing Tinarewen etc. on their own tour.

As Jarvis sang in Common People, it doesn't count if you have a big house to go back to when your "slumming it" is over.

Tinarewen

I'd never heard of this group before. Just had a look at this year's Glastonbury lineup out of curiosity, saw Tinariwen, had a read on their Wiki page and decided to listen to a couple songs. Great sound and very atmospheric.

Bandmaid

I do like Band-Maid. If they feel they would like to play at Glastonbury and that they'll find an audience there, maybe they can contact the festival organizers.

As of 15:21 Monday, everyone above has minus points. Someone sniffy about their music?

Oooh Wallace that sounds great. Well it’s all about the dough these days isn’t it, just like everything else, smh

Elton with his sing writing partner can write me eatable tunes and obviously has s a the presence that some enjoy, but he’s not my cup of tea you see. Bit too predictable and he’s a bit obsessed with the celebrity lifestyle and don’t get me started on his husband, what a weird chap he seems.

I'm not a fan of Elton, but of course I do like some of his stuff...Mad Man Across the Water is great - I saw him in concert once - he was really great - it was more like a huge party and he was the entertainer - not a shred of "I'm a super-star" at all...I was truly impressed with his performance and character
