Is he stupid? That’s not how it works, people will pay what it’s worth…not what HE thinks it’s worth. Not that many people are interested to start with, add to that the time difference and even less people will be watching.

He's not stupid. The more money from contracts, the more he'll make.

If they want to be clear, publish exactly how much of the fee is going into the woman's game (and how much is going into FIFAs pockets).

While I cannot stand crooked Infantino and his slimy practices, it is rather disturbing for women's soccer that in a market as big as the UK - where the England Lionesses are Euro champions- only pocket money is being offered for the TV rights to the womens WC.

Surely there is some interest in these big markets in their national team, no? I am certain Japan has made a decent offer for rights : past winner Nadeshiko Japan are widely embraced.

Just a cash grab by FIFA. Ignore them. The audience figures will be much lower, which determines the going rate. They are lower in the men's game too if it is on in the middle of the night. People may stay up for their home team, but they won't for all the other games. If they block it, interest will flatline whilst angry fans will hate FIFA even more than they already do. I don't know anyone who has a good word to say about them as it is.

I doubt the BBC can afford more. On weekday mornings now, they film radio presenters chatting to listeners and call it TV.

If FIFA really want to support the women's game, they can shift some of the money from the men's game to it.

Who really cares? When we had the womans world cup in North America my friends in Belgium didn't even know it was on.

If that's the case, perhaps Belgians need to support their women's team more. It's not as if their highly fancied men's team (they were number 1 for several years) have ever won anything!

Let’s be realistic, women’s football doesn’t have the appeal of the men’s game.

It's Supply vs. Demand 101. The women's game simply isn't the men's game and neither is its market value.

Correct above. Simple supply and demand.

A little while down the road some of you will be complaining about what it costs to watch the English Premier League, because the next round TV rights, due up soon is going to be brutal - so many companies are interested in showing it.

This FIFA guy is a fool, a dishonest one at that!

Women sports needs more WOMEN to support their sports, most women dont care, many will complain that womens salaries in sport are but then ask if they watch said sport & you hear crickets......

Being in AUS & NZ clearly makes it a much harder sell to Europe/UK!

He's telling those five countries to pay more or it's nothing, which would hurt the people, especially the girls/women, who planned on watching these games. Talk about blackmail.

I prefer watching the Australian women’s team (Matildas) compared to the men’s. Especially with Sam Kerr. An absolute legend. Her hip and shoulder bump, Aussie rules style, to deal with a pitch invader has made her a national hero. She gets more media coverage than any current Australian male player.

Australians love their sport and know how to hold a tournament. This will be worth watching.
