Kishida's grip on power was shaken by revelations of links between LDP lawmakers and the controversial Unification Church

Now largely forgotten.

Kishida's hasty decision to hold a state funeral with taxpayers' money for former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe

Now largely forgotten.

Message: doesn't matter what they do, more than enough, mostly old, people will vote for his degenerate party.

Seriously wish the people writing articles would get off the fence and choose one or the other.

Election, or no election!

While facing several setbacks at home, lawmakers say Kishida believes his popularity will rise if he can demonstrate to the public that he is strong in foreign affairs.

I couldn't care less if he's strong in foreign affairs. It doesn't do the public much good so they shouldn't care either.

I am dreading the bullhorns out in front of my home from morning to night as I live right by the station and it there is nothing that blocks out that screaming and yes, I mean screaming.........uggh.

Kishida’s foreign policy seems to solely consist of giving out large amounts of money to foreign countries while leaving the majority of Japanese people poor and childless.

Oh dear. I guess you have not heard that everyone in Japan who wants a job has a job and that Japanese households are cash rich.

I've heard that. I've also heard that everyone in Japan eats sushi five times a day and has kick-ass Ninja moves but I don't believe that either.

The only thing kishida showcases is his servitude to the bureaucracy of japan.

Please read and then question the reasoning and necessity calling a snap election

The High Cost of Running for Office

https://www.tokyoreview.net/2017/08/election-deposits-japan/

It is unnecessary, costly, preposterously irresponsible.

The people need to have confidence in government to focus on the challenges at hand.

Not political public peacocking

Doesn't matter to the LDP. With inherited family wealth and money getting funnelled to them via koenkai, ¥9 million is just loose change.

Simon Foston, I think it is the message it sends out, it is tin eared tone deaf.

There is so many social fiscal and monetary problems that need more practical solutions.

I know that, but they don't care. Why should they? The people they need to vote for them are going to vote for them anyway, and no one else matters to them.

Yes I understand Simon Foston, I hope the younger members of my family take notice, they fail to vote, no interest in politics.

I hope this behavior will change, I have my doubts.
