Good to see Germany step up, along with many democratic nations, to help ensure totalitarian, Communist China will never be allowed free reign in the Asia Pacific region.

Supporters of Communist China - haters of freedom - will be alarmed at this. Which is great to see.

Interesting strategy and priority setting. They now suddenly care about Indo-Pacific and other farthest possible areas, but completely forget security and safety within own continent and country or at least some EU border controls and management. No more stock of military equipment or own defense capabilities, as everything needs repair or has been given away due to Ukraine conflict, and of course showing not the slightest activities to handle migration problems and further influx of masses of people, in contrary. They have already given up themselves in Central Europe. Or are they eventually already preparing to move quickly away after soon being completely overrun? Then and only then it would of course make some sense to focus on far away areas.

Sending 240 soldiers is symbolic at best. They have much more pressing concerns in their back yard

Bullhockey, as usual. Every time Germany is just so much as cursory mentioned in an article you, being an immigrant yourself, spew your anti-immigration rhetoric. What did they do to you, who hurt you so bad over there in your home country?

Good move from Germany to join these joint military operations with other democracies such as Australia,Japan and the U.S.

China and Russia are aware that their militaristic hawkish expansions will have a limit in every continent and region of the world.

To do what? Study at its universities?

The twist is, Germany is so dependent on Chinese money, its forces are actually there to "balance" the field for China.

Germany is in denial about surrendering the leadership and direction of the European EU/NATO bloc to the reactive countries in the east - Poland and the Baltic republics - who increasingly decide the agenda with the loudest voice and Berlin meekly acts the deer in the headlights, while the NATO expansionist policies have backfired like a spectacular own-goal and the US-Anglo alliance has forcibly cut their economy off from a cheap source of energy.

They are lamely looking for somewhere to be relevant again. At least it could be said of France that it does have colonies in geographical proximity to Australia in both the Indian and South-West Pacific oceans. Germany has no business there. They should be worrying about the dark economic clouds on the horizon (not to mention their demographic ones) before embarking on more foreign adventures.

German navy is weak and they were very afraid of the Russians spreading the war beyond the Ukraine theatre!

China should send 30,000 troops to Europe.

If they could find a country that was willing to accept them, sure. Maybe dog Russia or dog Belarus.
