I would not dismiss heat stroke as a cause of death. Has happened in Immigration Detention Centres.

But agree...Japan Police and law suck .

All those calling the man names ,need to get a life and learn about age and dementia where lots of the inhibitions in a younger brain disappear.

Drop the charges and check his mental health.

I worked in mental health including dementia wards and you'd be surprised how many stately matrons of the better class start dropping the "f bomb " at you.

In Sydney some years back, a Brazillian tourist, on acid, stole a packet of biscuits from a corner store.

A number of Police chased him, subdued him and tasered him multiple times causing his death.

Maybe Japan and Australia's police could exchange ideas.....you bunch of MORONS

Hint: Mentally unstable people, are usually not able to control their actions.

{Thats a hint to Hiro above }

Posted in: Woman jumps to her death after apparently killing elderly mother See in context

My Japanese wife and me are caring for Mother of wife for last 2 years. She's improving in every aspect....putting on weight, eating like a horse, going on excursions with her daughter [thats my "free drinkee time }...crickey .... looks like she'll live forever, or at least past me.

Sort of not how I saw things panning out.....Pretty crowded in a 2 bedroom unit....now she's taken to moving cups and things from the usual place......is this some plan to drive me out...or worse ...insane ?

Not how I saw my twighlight years , I can tell you.....imprisoned in my own home and unable to find the beer glasses.

Posted in: UK to house hundreds more migrants on barges, Sunak says See in context

1/ Housing criminals " on barges led to the use of Australia as a penal colony in the post "invasion//discovery " years. This sounds familiar.

2/ Modern day treatment of refugees by Australia very shabby. It's a false premise to call these people "illegals" as its not illegal to seek asylum under international laws and treaties Australia has signed and is bound by.

3/This issue always was and continues to be "red meat for the masses " and voters in both UK and Australia.

Maybe if we stopped funding wars and instability in other nations the flow might be reduced. I doubt many "free people would seek to live in the land of blighty {UK.

Posted in: An estimated 33% of married couples get a divorce each year, according to the Japanese government. Why do you think the figure is so high and do you think this is a worldwide trend? See in context

My wife and I just clocked up 30 years of marriage....with a couple of years co habiting/travelling before getting hitched.

Marriage is like a garden...if you ignore it, weeds will take over .

I'm lucky too....my wife is still a hottie , we make each other laugh, and she never has a bad word to say about others.

People, you have to put in some work to make marriage work.

Posted in: Ex-student awarded damages over high school rule that banned dating See in context

Just on the "its a private school, they can make whatever rules they like " comments....I'm sure Japanese domestic law and any international treaties Japan has signed over rides the school rules.

If Japan is a signatory to any UN "rights of the person " treaties/documents there seems to me to be a restriction of a students rights/freedoms of association in a ban on dating .

Japanese judges are probably not known for abstract application of law.

I couldnt understand the "English " of half the customers {native Brits }...the variation from those originally from towns and areas outside London was incredible.

Lakemba is a suburb in western Sydney with as many Chinese, Indians and probably Aussie born as Arab Muslims.

We have a new Government in Australia and the days of name calling and point scoring are over.

Now... Byron Bay ....have you heard that a few years ago it had the highest rate of street violence in NSW ?

Gee, you thought it was trend setters, influencers and Hollywood stars didnt you.?

I've found out there are lots of taxes and costs we didnt investigate, body corporate rates doubled over 5 years, issues like flooding, landslides etc all important as well.

Not sure about the "Japanese dont haggle " idea....depends on the seller.

Broke companies, people owing taxes and the dead all seem to haggle.
