Well they will have to ban all marine products from all of Japan then won't they. If not the ban will be full of loopholes and easy to circumvent. Exporters are very clever and resourceful.

This is a bad look for you in the APAC region. You have to consider your neighbors and take the politics out of it. Before you open those valves and release this water. There is still a chance for an alternative solution.

Do not dump this tainted water into the Pacific. This is a monumental mistake. That will come back and bite hard. Its tough situation for Japan. One caused by nature.

No one would have thought it would come to this. Again human kind has made leaps and bounds and have reached feats that are surreal and unbelievable in the modern age.

That's not comparable, first that's Guangdong plant is not crippled as Fukushima even it's Made in China and second how much water they produce? Was that by millions like Japan did?

No need to worry for Hongkong there are plenty agriculture exporter that willing to supply to Hongkong, from North Africa, Europe, Australia, South East Asia to South America. They can replace Japan anytime after those contaminated water being released.

Does the people of Hong Kong has the right to choose what to eat or what not to eat. They don't want to eat Japanese seafood but they are 'OK' of people of other countries continue eating Japanese seafood. Just came back from Hong Kong just over a week ago.

I can tell you a lot of Hong Kongers will continue to eat food from Japan. They know that Japan produces quality.

Most Hong Kongers know that Mr. Lee is just a puppet and anything that he says is just towing the CCP line.

The Chinese and Hong Kong never advocating other countries not to eat Japanese produced seafood, it is up to everyone to make their own decision. Actually the government of China and Hong Kong want to see people who dares to eat those seafood and their consequences.They are cautious and you can't blame them.

Good! Let's hope EVERY SINGLE nation on Earth follows suit. Japan has had more than a decade to deal with this, and it was all based on lies and incompetence to begin with (What fault lines? No one could have known!). In fact, every single export from Japan should be banned until the release stops, and until the clean up and decommissioning of the plant is finished if they even begin.

In terms of environmental issues, China, Russia, and South Korea have a more negative impact on other countries.

Air pollution, soil pollution, and water pollution are unfortunately worse in those countries.

Japan should definitely stop importing foodstuffs from those countries.

BTW, is tap water safe to drink in Hong Kong yet? It wasn't last time I was there.

Everyone living there was getting filtered water delivered or buying bottled water to avoid getting sick. For someone used to drinking tap water and using tap water for everything, remembering to keep your mouth and eyes shut in the shower and using bottled water to brush your teeth is a bit odd.

Hotels claim to have water purification in Hong Kong and I bet they worked great the first year after the building was completed. 20 yrs later, not so much. I often get a rash from the water in Hong Kong taps just by showering with it. And this is for 4-star hotels, so I can only imagine what 3-star hotel water is like.

BTW, Costa Rica has safe to drink tap water even in very remote places like Monteverde so it isn't like developing countries can't do it, if they make it a priority. Everyone needs clean water everywhere in the world. Wasting hours a day getting it is just dumb.

FUD much? The science says to avoid fish directly at the end of the release point(s), but after 3 miles, the water is just like water in the middle of the Pacific ocean. Fish swim. Some will feed near the release points.

Further, Japan will be specifically farming fish near the released water so they can track any oddities that show up. When the fish they farm nearby are healthy, we'll know any issues can't be blamed on the released water. If they aren't healthy, the release plan can be altered.

Please get your news from less biased sources than RT and the CCP-news with their FUD. Their goal is political, not food safety.
