A final section looking at some solutions would have been useful.
Things people, communities, regions etc can do to help mitigate the worse effects of this fast growing but still largely ignored crisis

It’s laughable when the biggest polluters are politicians and government, the ones asking us to cut down on power use while they are the mos profligate users!

That does nothing to change the fact that the changes in lifestyles are still necessary, what is happening is the same thing that always do, the people that can use power and money to evade the worst consequences do not feel so much the need to cooperate to avoid them.
But if you think you can be avoid being affected in the same way you are for a very rude awakening.

If they truly believed what they were claiming, they wouldn't do that. They are in it for the money.

They do believe what they are claiming, they just also know that they can use their power and money to avoid being affected as badly as the rest of the humanity, so they don't see the point in preventing something that will affect mostly normal people. They are not saying false things for the money, their money lets them stop worrying about the problem. Believing most people can ignore the science and be spared in the same way is not a rational position to take.
It is like a powerful banker saying people should be frugal to have enough money to retire without having to work until they die, if he does the opposite that is not proof he don't believe what he says do apply to most people.
