RIP Ian McDonald.
On a side note, King Crimson has been the only foreign band allowed to tour Japan during Covid in 2021. Japan has now been closed to international artists for 2 years!

I saw Ian McDonald perform with Foreigner from a few meters away. Great show!
RIP!

Thanks for the beautiful music.

I saw Greg Lake (another original founder of King Crimson) in Osaka just a couple years ago, and he has since also died of cancer at aged 69.
It's sad to lose both of these talented men at somewhat early ages.

Sad. Matte Kudasai was my children's lullaby: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ql-xNcpW_dA

I hear you Zichi. Too heavy/dangerous for me.
Threshold of a Dream or Ummagumma were my go to.

Foreigner was the first band I ever saw. I do recall Ian's name from that but I didn't know he was in King Crimson.
Wow. This guy has really been around the block. He never had a solo career, never was a household name but he was here and there, and that's a sure good way to make a living. He got around. RIP dude.
