My friend, the Japanese royals have no freedom to do anything. They are the closest thing to political prisoners here.

Are the penguin suits really necessary for a garden party? They were once fashionable, but it's not like they're traditional Japanese clothing.

What struck me more though, when this was reported on the news last night, was that it was pouring with rain and everyone was stood outside under umbrellas, making small talk. Why on earth was there no provision made for inclement weather? Surely there is a reception hall or something they could let people into out of the rain?

As nice as the members of the Japanese royal family are, they sure do live a charmed life.

Finally, some of the staff in my sports club de-masked. Saw one of my favourite trainer's face for the first time EVER. Keep demasking, everyone. You will be glad you did! Maybe the Royals will do better and show their unadorned faces at the next public events...
