So an LDP-run commission will investigate an LDP-run agency?

I don't expect much will come of it.

Just get rid of the whole My Number system. It was a bad idea when it started. It's getting worse and worse every time they try to make it bigger.

Be nice for them to provide replacement cards free of charge due to their errors!

The more problems this card has the happier I am!

I'm very happy with the system. No more annoying trips to city hall just to get this form or that form. Can also use as a health insurance card. I really hope they also incorporate the driving license into it as well. One card for everything is so much more convenient.

So true this. Truly shocking how bad it is. And can say same about websites here. Ever tried to find anything in a Japanese website? Government ones are especially shocking. And all full of 100s of pdfs (and link to adobe to install even though all browsers hand loaded pdfs natively for at least 10 years) and untold pages of instructions that are impossible to decipher. Think part of the issue is they having to cover absolutely every possibility and the to double down again.... That comes from being an extremely risk adverse society.

I'm sure the Japanese government will smooth out the kinks eventually. I mean by the time the rest of the world carries all their personal data in a chip embedded in their wrist that can hologram out an ID card, Japan's citizens will finally get to carry around a piece of rectangular plastic that actually works!

Japanese people all tell me they are ごちゃごちゃ too much information most of it redundant and unnecessary. Nothing to do with about being for Japanese people only.
