Tucked neatly away in Chofu City, the Jindai Botanical Gardens is 105 acres of expertly curated floral beauty. Less than an hour from from downtown Tokyo and a stone’s throw from Jindai-ji temple, the gardens are home to 4,800 plant varieties spread over 30 distinct sections.
If you’re in need of an escape from cramped trains and the shoulder-to-shoulder city grind, head to the Jindai Botanical gardens. It’s the perfect place to take a breather in any season.
From Season to Season
The ample gardens are divided into distinct sections that bloom in different months, promising an eyeful for visitors at any time of year. Walk among the cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring, the water lilies in the summer, dahlias in autumn and camellias in winter. In any season there are a multitude of varieties at the height of their beauty.

We love visiting botanical gardens for flower viewing. In London, Kew Gardens was a favorite.
In Kobe went frequently to Suma Rikyu for their magnificent rose collection. Also the Awaji Yumebutai on Awaji Island.
Maybe one day we can visit Jindai Botanical Gardens.
