Joe Biden, America's oldest sitting president, needs young voters to win again. Will his age matter?

I think the biggest risk of young voters screwing it up is if there is third party candidate. I think the bigger challenge is figuring out what happened to lose the vote of black men.

Age? When your opponent is facing four criminal indictments with over 100 charges that could result on over 80 years of confinement...
Think "jail"....not "age"...
bass4funk
Jail is not going to be the factor for Biden’s political opponent, for Biden the enthusiasm gap is growing, not to mention on all of the problematic social issues he campaigned on never came to fruition as well as his growing blunder spills he’s having.
We all know his cognitive abilities have greatly increased and the man is nowhere near from what he once was, a healthier uninspiring career Washington swamp establishment creature.

More than his age or wastrel son, his neo-liberalism should matter.
Make way for Bernie and the Squad.

That ship sailed a long time ago.

An exceedingly one-sided opinion piece that fails to look at the extremely low popularity ratings the dementia-riddled incumbent has.
Mr Kipling
The Democrats have had plenty of time to find and prepare the electorate for Biden's replacement. He is obviously in decline, just listen to his voice compared to only 3 years ago. The gaffs are a field day for the Republicans and are a little exaggerated but based on a fact that his mental capacity is sliding now. I four years it will be much worse. I thought Harris was going to be groomed as the first female president but she turned out to be useless and invisible.

Both Biden and Trump are too old for the Oval Office. There should be a 70-year age limit.
Bob Fosse
Is that so?

You don't live in America, so what do you know about it? Sorry, just getting your previous "response" properly dealt with. "Young people" can be denigrated as much as we want as that is not a protected group per se. I didn't say anything remotely disparaging about black men, just that the Democrats have to figure this out or we are going to end up with four years of the guy who is promising Revenge on America. Politics is discussed in terms of demographics including race and national origin even today.

And there is your ageism on display, which is discriminatory because a person doesn't grow out of being old.
Jimizo
Biden and Trump are too old to be running but younger doesn’t necessarily mean better.
Bush 2 was an absolute disaster.
lincolnman
It most definitely will...
Well thanks for the compliment - I'm sure Joe and Team Blue appreciates your view he has "increased" cognitive abilities...certainly better than his main opponent who abilities have clearly regressed....
bass4funk
No, and the Dems know it won’t. But we get it, sensationalism sells.
Decreased, decreasing
God save the Queen……Yeah, ok….

Decreased, decreased..
And diminished.
lincolnman
Evidence convicts...especially when provided by Meadows, Giuliani, Kushner, Septien, et.al. ROFL...
But you said increased....
Bass: "We all know his cognitive abilities have greatly increased"....
Thanks again for the compliment...
bass4funk
None in prison.
typo, my bad, meant: decreased, diminished.
And corrected it.

The most likely Republican contender is only three years younger than Biden, and if he were to be sworn in again, he would be older at the inauguration than Biden was at his inauguration.
As a youth, I was more likely to vote for the most perfect candidate, which sometimes meant a third party candidate. Now, I don't mind voting for the lesser of two evils, especially when one candidate is opposed to the very concept of democracy, and truth, and facts, and morality,..........
1glenn
On the subject of Bush 2, I find him very interesting. I think I would enjoy having a conversation with him, and I would probably like him as a man. But, I think he was a less than stellar president. Trump, on the other hand, is such a terrible human being that just having him in the neighborhood would ruin property values. By rights, he should have to register as a sex offender, and those may be the least of his offenses.
bass4funk
We all have our opinions.
For what?
More??
Redemption
I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump wins again.
bass4funk
I liked both men, definitely thought Trump was better in so many ways, love how it just doesn’t back down in the worst of situations and refuse to allow anyone to define him, the lies, desperation and the ongoing and failed attempts to knock this guy out of the presidential race is nothing but boredom ate this point and shows the desperation of the fractured and tattered Democrat party.
They can’t run on their policies and they are trying to deny the American electorate the choice of choosing the leader they want, but the more the democrats throw stones at this guy, the stronger he gets. Sharp as a needle still and doesn’t mince words like the current President. “God save the Queen” that will live with Biden until the end of time. Whatever you might think of Trump, he definitely knows which country he lives and is fighting for.
Kaowaiinekochanknaw
I am more concerned with bribery and corruption but age also plays a factor.
I actually wish he was younger so would have to endure a longer prison term.
Bob Fosse
lol. It’s funny you believe this.

With the queen on the throne for 70 years it was easy for anyone to make a mistake and forget she died. I have to think about it too.
nukkuheddo
instead of slinging mud towards those on the opposite side of the aisle - why not discuss things in a reasonable fashion?...It is a non-sequitur to compare what J or H Biden may or may not have done and what DJT has been indicted for. If I commit a crime but you did too...doesn't make your crime fine because I committed a crime too...when did we stop having raging civil discourse? I suppose because we don't use our real names on this forum we can rant like savages - but what's the point? I have observed these conversations for perhaps a couple of years - it's always the same players - always the same rants - if you're going to do nothing than rant - why bother?...it's just noise...Dems have traditionally been more on the side of younger folks...Reps have traditionally been about giving the wealthy (generally older) tax breaks...if I am mistaken...have a rant since you seem incapable of discourse...
opheliajadefeldt
I think what will swing the Dems in to vistory in 2024 is the disastrous policies the reps are trying to foist upon the American people, just look at the abortion laws which they are promoting, 78% of the people are against them, then look at the stupid 'woke' thing being pushed in almost every red state, then their is the book bans, the pathetic things they are pushing for are just too much for the majority of sensible people. But one thing we should all be aware of, if Trump some how wins in 2024, the USA win become a dictatorship, and his policies across the world will be disastrous, he will instantly favour all dictator countries and their leaders.
wallace
Who is favored to win the 2024 presidential election?
According to the 2024 election odds listed at Ladbrokes, President Joe Biden (34.8%) and former President Donald Trump (30.8%) remained most likely to be the next US President. Attorney Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (7.7%), California Gov. Gavin Newsom (6.7%), and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (6.7%) are in Tier 2.
wallace
Trump wants Joe Biden to run in 2024.
wallace
Trump will be the first nomination for president with three federal indictments.
lincolnman
You can call it whatever you want, everyone else that read the link would call it "cooperating"....
https://www.thedailybeast.com/ex-trump-campaign-official-joins-giuliani-in-signing-proffer-deal-report-says
Nonsense....
What?
Like you said, they're cooperating with Smith sticking a knife in Trump's back....
You made an error?
*Bass: Yes, we are all human, it happens.*
Gotcha....keep flipping....ROFL...
itsonlyrocknroll
The next generation must step up and be counted, activism must end at the ballot box.
Joe Biden at eighty an octogenarian should be feet up pipe and slippers.
Joe Biden legitimately succeeded in the 2020 US Election.
I struggle to understand why?
Ok Donald Trump could be a reason why.
But US politics can't seem to reach within and bring forth any other serious contenders?
Yet in 2024 it could be round two.
lincolnman
And guilty...
And flipping....
Your conservative icon...not much of a conservative if you don't know her....
Blacklabel
No, his age by itself wont but that plus confirmation of his family corruption by taking bribes from our enemies will.
lincolnman
Ask Giuliani - he's the one that issued the "proffer" saying he'd cooperate with Smith...
Ask Meadows - he's the one that gave Smith all his emails...
Ask Jared - he's the one that voluntarily agreed to an interview...
On this thread; Bass: "I made a mistake". Bass: "I never did"....
Guess you know her now....ROFL...
