Dating is a normal development toward adulthood. No dating policy? Seems ludicrous in a country of lowering birthrates.

The question is why? I am not a sociologist but they are obvious issues: couples who choose not to have a child until their personal economics improve. Next is less marriages due to the same concerns as well as women choosing careers over marriage or having children. Next is the number of unwanted pregnancies that result in abortions one the one hand, and flushing newborns into the toilet...

Additionally, there is a high number of marriages that end quickly due to DV.

Where I live, despite the minimum wage being less that 800 yen, the number of new born children is high compared to other prefectures.

Government policies, corporations, and even small businesses have not provided a way to have children and not take a hit in family income.

In fact many small business prefer to hire an unwed woman or Obachan to avoid employee loss due to childbirth.
