When was Japan made part of North America? Hell no to NATO!

I cancelled mine too. The content they've been dumping (or lack thereof) has been sub-par at best. Not even going to get into the discussion about their all their "woke" agenda fueled recent movies.

Posted in: There's high demand overseas for older Japanese cars, driven by their appearances in movies and manga, as well as their sturdiness and cool looks. Their prices have shot up to match demand. See in context

Nailed it @wtfjapan. Those are collector gold at the moment. Not to mention how cheap they are (relatively speaking) in Japan. Serious money to be made from import/export.

Well deserved! Congratulations Japan! (I'm in Australia now... REALLY missing Japanese bakeries.)

Posted in: The Japanese government is offering families 1 million yen to relocate from Tokyo in an effort to revitalize towns across the country. Do you think this is a good idea? See in context

They'll need to encourage the businesses employing those people to move too. Nobody will move if they've got an unreasonable commute to work.

Posted in: Japan eyes higher corporate, tobacco taxes to fund defense spending See in context

If they're gonna fund defense, taxing the tobacco industry is an excellent way to do it! Increased defense, less smoking, yes please!

Posted in: Kishida sends ritual offering to Yasukuni Shrine See in context

If people honestly think this political ritual / tradition will ever change, they're delusional. This is not something we foreigners (at least some of us) will ever seem to understand, let alone have a right to dictate. Getting mad at symbolism is a futile exercise in frustration and anger. Let it go. Let them do their thing. The point is that somewhere in all this madness is respect, mostly for the deceased. I see nothing wrong with this.

The world's biggest global threat, ironically, is America.

Posted in: Do you think China is a military threat to Japan? See in context

China only wants Taiwan back and to keep Western "Democracy" out. The US is really the antagonist in all current global conflicts.

I'm one of the 300,000 current cases. It is NOT just the flu. Wear your masks and get vaccinated people. Day 6 and it feels like I just climbed Mt. Fuji. The government needs to step in. People can't do the right thing to save themselves (no surprises there).

Check my comment above... Called it. Thanks NATO et al for really sinking us into a global recession.

Posted in: Do you think going to the cinema will become a thing of the past due to the increasing popularity of streaming services? See in context

Much as I absolutely love my home cinema setup... Not everyone has the wall real estate, funds, or desire to invest in a quality projector (I can strongly recommend the Epson LS500 UST) and sound system. Personally, I abhor the public cinema experience. Filthy and loaded with distractions (couples making out, kids giggling or throwing stuff around, old people trying to keep each other up to speed on what's going on on-screen). But public cinemas will never die. People love the experience, I'm just not one of them.

Posted in: S Korea, U.S. launch 8 missiles in response to N Korean salvo See in context

It's amazing how many people seem to think that this tit-for-tat form of politics with North Korea, China, and Russia will somehow yield a positive outcome. We're already in major global recession that will only get worse, thanks to the West's sanctions against Russia. China's already on edge with the US presence in the region and the former Australian government's taunting and overall stupidy. Do we really want to keep poking at nuclear North Korea with their Napoleon-complex leader? Not saying what Russia, China, and North Korea have been doing are correct, but let's face it, the West hasn't exactly behaving any better.

Posted in: China congratulates Australia's Albanese in hint at thawing ties See in context

I hope Albanese patches things up with China. Australia should have deeper and closer ties to its Asian neighbours than with the US. The US is only looking out for its own interests, at the expense of its allies across the Pacific.

No. Much as most won't want to admit, Russia is a necessary part of the global economy. Cut off Russia and we ALL pay the price. Literally.

You can cut and snip and take as many hormones as you can stomach, but it will NEVER change your natural biology. XX = female, XY = male. Anything else is an chromosomal anomaly or a mental disorder. Irrefutable fact.
