I have the impression that 1% is an optimistic figure. I'm afraid that there many more people with mental health problems here in Japan and other countries. It is a growing issue that must be carefully taken as a priority by all public and private organizations.

Can hardly believe that this is legal in Japan, to ban 100% of students from a determined school when very few are making too much noise. It is a problem when managers do not know how to solve a problem by talking to the young students, had no initiative to go to the school director. It is a surprise that Mac Donald's senior staff support this type of attitude, as it is clearly not good for business in the immediate and long term as it discriminate all students of a school due to the bad behavior of a few.

Putin, instead of retreating, stepping back, continues to make statements to continue the war, by using more weapons, to cause more deaths and destruction, this is insane, a tough decision must be made, and actions taken by world peace leaders that still have the mission to protect the free world. Inflation has been hitting hard all countries, this crazy war is causing damage worldwide. Enough is enough, the reasonable time to stop this has passed away times ago.

Congratulations for the arrest of the junior thieves. The big challenge is to have an intelligence team to reach the true mentors, the architects, the intellectual people who recruited these youth and would enjoy the lion share of this robbery. Await for the truly big news, the identity and arrest of their bosses.

It is very good to read news like this, of a Japanese who cares about people in danger, suffering of violence. Mr Yusuke Nagai is very brave in risking his own life to make possible to offer an alternative to those who want to flee from dangerous situations, a true peace maker.

My best wishes for Mr Nagai, it is not an easy mission.

Hope to get sufficient support to grow this noble ambition of making the world a better place to live!

Posted in: G7 nations considering near-total ban on exports to Russia: reports See in context

Total ban on exports and imports to and from Russia is necessary to stop to feed the financial and material resources that enable the war to continue. Over one year of deaths of young soldiers of both sides, deaths and injuries of civilians, millions of refugees from Ukraine, inflation worldwide and the threat of use of nuclear weapons by Putin, so, an urgent action has to be taken, before it escalates to worse.

Posted in: Looming behind antibiotic resistance is another bacterial threat – antibiotic tolerance See in context

It is a very serious issue as it affects the life of billions of people. There should be tight laws and regulations regarding the administration of antibiotics and several other medicines that can cause harmful side effects. After Medical school physicians should be obliged to keep themselves updated regarding pharmacological issues, an annual examination on this should be considered. I lived in Brazil and there despite the law it is possible to buy prescription medicine in private pharmacies that aim only for profits and sales. Here in Japan and there in the UK it is not possible to get medicine without a proper doctor's prescription. It is complicated to regulate a business of the powerful pharmaceutical industry that is hungry for growing profit margins.

I live in Komaki city, Aichi, very close to Nagoya and did not see any yellow sand here these days. When I lived in Brazil there were frequently weather events that the news blamed to be related to El Niño that is in the Pacific Ocean and Brazil coast is 100% South Atlantic ocean... Fact is, that the burning of Amazon forest affects a lot the climate, causing floods and typhoons in the south of Brazil. And vulcans ashes from Chile or Argentina can reach Brazil despite the thousands of miles distance....

Omuraiso is a simple and delicious meal, I learned about it in a Netflix series, Tokyo Dinner Stories, a marvelous series with a small restaurant where the cook accepts orders from customers, in general meals that the customers had in their childhood, full of good memories, a must to see series, amazing stories of a great variety of personal characters. Tokyo alone has over 137,000 restaurants, against 27,000 in New York, this is clear that fair prices are a great incentive to convince many people to have their meals at small restaurants instead of cooking at home.

It is a common procedure to request an ID there in Brazil where I was born and raised, and even here in Japan, the Zayru Card is requested in most places. And some years ago I went to the USA, and was asked in all places, from airport arrival immigration officers, car rental assistants, where did I come from, where I am going to, requested to present ID, I got late in a hotel, so was asked why did I arrive late, what would be my next destination, and so on. It was a repeated procedure of everybody, afraid of terrorists?

Posted in: History of kamikaze attacks not a heroic story: ex-school teacher See in context

I find very good to hear different opinions about kamikaze and other events. War is generally decided by old men who are unable to discuss and try to reach an agreement in a diplomatic way and sent young people to battle and many die or are injured because of bad leaders that do not make efforts on diplomatic ways to solve conflicts. Convince young people to die killing others is crazy.

Oh, North Korea too. Let's celebrate peace, let's give up spending money on weapons, instead, will make large investments in assistance programs in poor countries, poor communities, investments in education, poverty alleviation, clean water, sanitation, health, technical training. Let's build peace, let's promote life, not war or conflicts any more, let's write new books, new chapters of love, friendship, cooperation, trust, build bridges, not walls.

Japanese and Koreans have to sit and try to discuss an end to this endless soap opera. Both countries are allies? Both countries rely and trust in each other as partners in business and mutual assistance if they are attacked by an enemy, e.g. North Korea? So, this island, territory issues could be resolved if both countries agree on sharing, yes, dividing, peacefully this territory, in the name of the partnership, friendship and non-aggression commitment, self-protection. This would be a great step towards strengthening the ties between two countries with a long history and a bright future if decide to spend on a positive agenda instead of eternally revolving the past. A win win agreement must be reached, for the best interest of both nations.

Currently I am eating the canned fish that I stored along all last year, I bought canned fish at 100 yen each at Seria store, a bargain. I use to store about 12 liters of drinking water, sometimes leave a bucket full of tap water, just in case. During the pandemia in 2020 there was a shortage of toilet paper for several weeks! Atonishing! Canned fruit that used to cost 100 yen is now 40% more expensive.
