I used to go to a Kenga matsuri in Toyama prefecture. They hurl the floats with massive logs in the front. into each other. Usually four deaths. A person I know got a broken back from falling from the roof of one. Amazing spectical, wish I could go back.

'Float' would seem a curious choice of vocabulary for a wood structure weighing one thousand kilograms. Although the participants appear to carry the kakiyamakasa, they are actually on wheeled carts:
