Going to be an exciting October as the MAGAs are reminded what government does for them again.

There are proposals to reduce access to abortion pills, bans on the funding of hormone therapy and certain surgeries for transgender veterans, and a prohibition on training programs promoting diversity in the federal workplace, among many others.

Is this what government “does for us”?

no thanks!

“I had a problem with abortion being put inside an ag bill," said Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, R-Pa. "I think that's ridiculous."

agreed. That is obviously ridiculous.

Yeah, unfortunately that is what the GOP is doing. Don't you worry, though, the programs at risk cost you negligible amounts of money and are the right thing to do.

saying the debt agreement “set a top-line spending cap — a ceiling, not a floor.”

Yep that’s what a “ceiling” is.

There are proposals to reduce access to abortion pills, bans on the funding of hormone therapy and certain surgeries for transgender veterans, and a prohibition on training programs promoting diversity in the federal workplace, among many others. At a press conference at the Capitol this past week, some members of the House Freedom Caucus, a conservative faction within the House GOP, said that voters elected a Republican majority in that chamber to rein in government spending and it was time for House Republicans to use every tool available to get the spending cuts they want.

The Freedom caucus care so much about fiscal responsibility concerning women's health care and food stamps but are fully behind almost halving the tax rate on corporations.

Socialism for the rich always gets a pass and the working public eventually pays with the debt and these wasteful negotiations.

But no problem about holding up military appointments over it, huh?

6 ( +6 / -0 )

holding up military promotions until the military policy stops funding abortions. They can and should change their policy.

So Whats abortion got to do with agriculture funding?

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

Such short memory spans.

https://rollcall.com/2020/07/02/duckworth-blocks-military-promotions-to-protect-impeachment-witness/

“Illinois Democratic Sen. Tammy Duckworth has put a blanket hold on 1,100 military promotions until…..”

So then what’s the Democrats excuse for not caring about minorities or their struggling communities? Are they not equally important?

Socialism for the rich always gets a pass

Because they don’t depend daily on other peoples money to make it.

and the working public eventually pays with the debt and these wasteful negotiations.

Hmmm, so how many blue collar jobs to Democrats support? What’s wrong with self-reliance? And if you’re studying, wouldn’t you think it’s probably better to do so when you have the money to do it (your personal money)

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Oh and Kevin got his ass handed to him by “Sleepy Joe” on the debt ceiling as well.

So. Much. Winning, lol.

If the military changes their policy, they will lose recruits, which will undermine military readiness.

“My Kevin” has gotten bunk done.

A lot more than previous Republican House speakers.

Inflation reduction? That was Joe.

However, the famed economist and former president emeritus of Harvard University, and former Secretary of the Treasury, is taking issue with the doctrine behind those policies.

“We do not have a problem of a shortfall of jobs,” Summers said, noting that the number of open jobs relative to people looking for work remains high. “We do have a problem of costs.”

High inflation has hurt workers by eating into their paychecks. Real wages, adjusted for inflation, have declined, making it harder for Americans to get by.

-CNN (that is Joe)

Gas prices? Oh, that was Joe

Yup! Sure is Joe!

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/gas-prices-us-just-spiked-021258827.html

Infrastructure? Let me guess, Joe.

Oh, most definitely it was Joe!!

https://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/nation/2023/07/27/states-siphoned-away-750-million-in-infrastructure-law-climate-funds/70476968007/

Meanwhile, the “blow the doors off the Biden crime family” whistleblower is a fugitive from justice for (wait for it) ……

All of them???

Being an agent of China, weapons smuggling, sanctions violations, and lying to the FBI.

Hunter?

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

If the military changes their policy, they will lose recruits

People join the military to get taxpayer funded abortion benefits?

Don’t need those type of recruits.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Oh and your lord and savior is going to need to make a quick stop at ADX Florence on his way to Hell, LOL.

I thought liberals don’t believe in Heaven and Hell. By the way he’s still alive, no need to wish something bad on the man.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

GOP leaders have teed up bills with far less spending than the agreement allows

That's what we call, "Bad faith negotiations."

4 ( +5 / -1 )

The GQP has failed on literally everything.

Not what the public thinks

And it vacks a sex offender headed to prison

No.

What’s it like to be so objectively wrong on everything?

Hope you know the Dems are one seat away of being a minority klan in the Senate, carful for what you wish for.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

“We should not fear a government shutdown," said Rep. Bob Good, R-Va. “Most of the American people won't even miss if the government is shut down temporarily.”

Sure Bob, just wait until all those Social Sec recipients, military retirees, disabled vets, school lunch kids, and others get cut off - they won't miss anything... MAGA-idiot...

Many House Republicans disagree with that assessment. Rep. Mike Simpson, R-Idaho, called it an oversimplification to say most Americans wouldn't feel an impact. And he warned Republicans would take the blame for a shutdown. “We always get blamed for it, no matter what,” Simpson said. ”So it’s bad policy, it’s bad politics."...

A sane Repub...

There are two lessons Repubs always fail to learn; 1) The coverup is worse than the crime, and 2) Repubs will always get blamed for shutdowns...

But shutdown the gov't once more - and show the American people you're doing Putin, Xi, and The Mullahs work for them...

Don’t need those type of recruits.

The majority of Americans would disagree and say that reproductive healthcare is important for the troops.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

You said potential military recruits, not “the majority of Americans”.

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

Trump closed down the government for the longest time in history. 35 days.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

The pink shart got bunk done.

Meanwhile Joe did inflation, infrastructure and the debt ceiling while not crashing the economy (where did that recession the GQP was praying for go?)

Thats a unicorn event. Tackling inflation always causes recession. A soft landing never happens.

But Joe did it.

While the Jobs machine went bonkers and real wages grew.

Joe did that. Not “my Kevin”.

No wonder they want to focus on his son. They have no possibility of beating him.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Blacklabel

You said potential military recruits, not “the majority of Americans”.

Only 34% of Americans believe that abortion should illegal in all or most cases. You are ready to sacrifice military readiness for your religious beliefs.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

Much different than having a military policy paying travel expenses and giving paid days off for abortions.

doesnt that affect readiness?

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

No. Having access to reproductive healthcare means you will have more people in the military, hence your military readiness will be enhanced.

Yes, we do. In the military, you and your family can get posted to one of the intellectually backwards states, in which case you need the policy in order to be able to deal with your health care needs.

When Sleepy Joe kicks your incarcerated sex offender’s ass by 10 million,

Uhh, this time, the GOP in DC and locally are more and better prepared, so I would shave it down to less than 3 million at this point.

we will know what the public thinks (ROFL)

Actually, we really do! Now more than ever. ROFL

If that were true it’d still be 3 million more than you got. And you’d still cry about losing, again.

Eight months since the GOP took the house. Their achievements? Nothing happened in the first hundred days. Not much after that.

3 ( +5 / -2 )

These boneheads and their shutdowns! They know that what they're doing is harmful to the country, but they just love to do it anyway.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

I spent 27 years on active duty in the military and 13 more as a DOD civilian....

This bunk about our troops being soft, unready, and "woke" - by a bunch of MAGA-armchair warriors whose only uniforms came from an Army surplus store is comedy gold....

I urge them to stop by any Army, Navy, Marine, Air Force, or Coast Guard installation and tell the troops leaving the base that they are "soft"....

Just make sure to pick a base that has a hospital close by....

Eight months since the GOP took the house. Their achievements?

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/restoring-america/courage-strength-optimism/house-republicans-bill-end-covid-19-public-health-emergency

1.Establishing the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party

2.Family and Small Business Taxpayer Protection Act

3.Expressing the Sense of Congress Condemning the Recent Attacks on Pro-Life Facilities, Groups, and Churches

4.Protecting America’s Strategic Petroleum Reserve from China Act

5.Strategic Production Response Act

6.Prosecutors Need to Prosecute Act

7.Expressing Support for the Nation’s Law Enforcement Agencies and Condemning Any Efforts to Defund or Dismantle Law Enforcement Agencies

9.Border and Safety Security Act

10.Illegal Alien NICS Alert Act

11.No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act

Nothing happened in the first hundred days. Not much after that.

A lot 12 accomplishments so far and going…

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

These boneheads and their shutdowns!

Ahhh, so the GOP should just roll over and go with whatever the Dems want? Why? Why would they do that when they’re the opposition party? Come on now…

They know that what they're doing is harmful to the country,

The country will still function, relax

but they just love to do it anyway.

As the Dems like to hold the GOP hostage. Welcome to the crappy world of politics.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

A lot 12 accomplishments so far and going…

Most of the list you provided will never be enacted. A lot of House resolutions (i.e. statements) or new House committees.

Accomplishments, lol . . .

The GOP House has not been able to pass anything. You know why? The MAGA wing's stuff is just too crazy to even make it out of the House, much less get passed by the Senate.

so the GOP should just roll over and go with whatever the Dems want?

There's such a thing as compromise. Democrats and Republicans used to be able to do it until the Tea Party, the Freedumb Caucus, and other circus performers took over the GOP.

Hey, you missed all the "real" accomplishments...

MTG calling Boebert a "lttle b%tch"....

Van Orden cursing out teenage pages...

McCarthy questioning Trump's 2024 electability - then groveling and flipping the next day...

Comer losing his "bombshell Hunter witness" then finding out he is a Chinese agent...

Jim Jordan's brain freeze live on Hannity: “That’s exactly what happened with, yuh, with the decision, the, the, uh, when it came to the uh, the decision with uh, Mr. uh,” Jordan said, then reset himself.

And their signature legislation; "The Republican-controlled House today has approved legislation that GOP lawmakers say would protect gas stoves from overzealous government regulators."

ROFL...

Bass, that is a list of acts, not accomplishments.

Do you know how many of them have passed and actually become law?

Take a guess.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Most of those bills didn't make it to the senate.
