The reason more and more homicides are being reported generally nowadays than before is that the majority was crime related and not sensational or that interesting to the public.

There are dedicated publications relating to organized crime and the violence there. So people can read those directly if interested.

Now there is an increase of random stabbings, family murders, kids, grandparents, neighbors with a simple noise complaint etc etc. Political assassinations too. These types of murders are on the increase.

These gain traction in the mainstream media as are more connected to general society and have more interest.

Sad.

A lot more of this type of snapping occurring recently.

I expect a lot more to follow unfortunately.

The last few years, many people have struggled with mental health through fear, trauma, lack of societal understanding and unhealthy isolation.

Simmering to boil.

Many people lost their livelihoods during the so-called pandemic and many policies affected people's mental state and destroyed the economy and sent worldwide inflation soaring.

Unfortunately, I fear a lot more of this coming as the rage continues to simmer to boil.

We are yet to see the kids and adolescents turn to teens and early 20's and start to turn against who they will rightly see as their abusers as they wake to what's happened to them.

This is the tip of the iceberg that's gonna rock the safety profile of Japan.

Stay safe everyone.

Yet plenty of people still wearing masks though. My uni students in one class all gave each other Covid last week. 11 of them. They all had masks on still and have been wearing the whole semester. The ones that didn't get it - including myself, were maskless. Go figure. Lolz.

I haven't found it that hot yet to be fair. Humid so sweat easily but the heat isn't blazing. I am from a place that gets much, much hotter than here though. So always can't understand the fuss. Plus summer is so short here. Stay hydrated and in the shade and will be easier to deal with.

Posted in: Djokovic, Alcarez reach Wimbledon quarters as Rybakina advances See in context

Novak Djokovic reached his 14th Wimbledon quarterfinal on Monday where he will face top-ranked Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz.

Umm. No.

For the QF's - Novak will be playing the Russian Rublev and Alcaraz will be playing the Danish Rune.

The top 2 seeds aren't even in the same draw, which always gives a chance to have 1 & 2 line up for the final.

Can I write your tennis news please?

Posted in: Ukraine, Russia accuse each other of planning to attack Europe's biggest nuclear plant See in context

I cannot see the strategic value in blowing up a NPP you are already in control of, threatening the lives of your own soldiers in the nearby vicinity and having the prevailing winds blow radioactive material over the parts of Ukraine you have recently tried to bring back into the fold of your territory and even Russia itself.

Never mind the bigger excuse it would hand over to NATO to invoke Article 5 and make it easier to have more weapons or possibly soldiers into the conflict.

Never mind the fact you would ruin significant parts of the land bridge you are trying to keep open and the loss of Crimea and your Black Sea Fleet.

If you can believe this is a serious strategy, I would love to hear the merits of it?

Sounds very 'Gulf of Tonkin' to me.

Cool. Keen to check it out.

Was driving through some parts of Tokyo I had never seen in 20 years, on the weekend. Always surprising how absolutely massive the city is and all of the interesting nooks and crannies you can find.

Did the same in Yokohama Sunday night and it was pumping and loads of people out on dates in the parks, people filling the bars and streets in a summer vibe. Lovely to see and the views were fantastic.

Would you be ok if an agreement has Russian invaders returning to Russia and Ukraine keeps its 2014 borders?

If that's what the people in the areas in question vote for. Sure, why not?

2020Hindsight

Why would Prigozhin and Wagner invade Ukraine?

Answer is for money. They are a private military for hire, much line Blackwater. So they operate on the same premise.

Wagner now has a shiny new spot to attack Ukraine on the new Northern Front, close to Kiev.

Well played indeed.

All's fair in love and war.

Interested to see what happens next.

Hopefully both parties can come to agreements and end the death and suffering of young guys and their families.
