I have numerous friends and relatives that are believers, and to them and to all the other peaceful followers of Islam I wish them a safe journey on their pilgrimage!

I find it interested that of the three major religions in the world, that basically come from the same roots, only Islam dictates that it's followers complete the Haji at some time in their lives.

True followers of Islam, are peace loving and good people, and I have much respect for them and their ways. Its the radicals , not only in Islam but the "other" religions that screw things up for the world!

These two parts make it very hard to be optimistic about the whole event, even without any violence the risk of accidental death would be very high.

The pursuit of science and technology, together with a totally humanitarian approach to creating a better and caring peaceful world without religious divisions for it's inhabitants now, and for generations to come, should be the way forward, not wasting time, energy, and an awful lot of money on religion.
