Russia has brought some 700,000 children from the conflict zones in Ukraine into Russian territory, Grigory Karasin, head of the international committee in the Federation Council, Russia's upper house of parliament, said late on Sunday. "In recent years, 700,000 children have found refuge with us, fleeing the bombing and shelling from the conflict areas in Ukraine," Karasin wrote on his Telegram messaging channel.

More Russian lies....Russia's kidnapping and forced abduction of these Ukrainian children is one of the worst war crimes since WW II.

it shows the cruel, brutal, evil nature of Putin's regime...one which he'll be held accountable for at the Hague - if he survives that long...

(with the exception of the slur on Aerospace Forces).

Translation: We have engaged in one of the largest forced human trafficking crimes in modern history by kidnapping 700k children from their families and their homeland.

"In recent years, 700,000 children have been kidnapped by us."

Fixed it.

* fleeing the bombing and shelling **from the conflict areas in Ukraine," Karasin wrote on his Telegram messaging channel.*

"fleeing the bombing and shelling that we are inflicting on their homes as part of our unprovoked and unjustified attack and attempted invasion of their country."

Fixed this one, too.

Source?

Grigory Karasin, head of the international committee in the Federation Council, Russia's upper house of parliament.

I can understand that Russia has an obligation to protect children inside the territories that it controls. More info is needed about what Russia intends to do with them. Are they looking for their parents? Were all of the 700,000 'orphans' or 'abandoned? '

Russia has a demographic problem and some people will suspect them of plain abduction.

In July 2022, the United States estimated that Russia "forcibly deported" 260,000 children, while Ukraine's Ministry of Integration of Occupied Territories, says 19,492 Ukrainian children are currently considered illegally deported.

huge discrepancy in numbers.

How is that a source?

None of you are backing up what you're saying with anything verifiable.

huge discrepancy in numbers.

Agreed, huge differences. I wonder why. Either way I think Russia should at least be providing details about every single child under their care; names, parents, where they were found, what circumstances, where they are now etc., assuming they have those details. Wouldn't you agree?

None of you are backing up what you're saying with anything verifiable.

What is your take on these 700,000 kids?

Deportations the way it was something like 90 years ago.

Only the sides have changed - now it's Russia!

Another war crime to be added to the very long list!

Ukraine prevails!

big difference in numbers.

proUA propaganda makers should come closer if they wants we will need to believe to their "data".

its good to know that kids are in safe places now.

lets hope that Kiev junta will be pushed to peace talk by their supporters and sponsors as have ZERO chance to win in this conflict and to defeat Russia.

Russia declaring their war crimes even more brazenly now?

6 ( +13 / -7 )

Allowing safe passage and sanctuary to children - and civilians in general - from war zones is vital.

Civilian infrastructure has been bombarded since 2014. This is the sad reality.

Wouldn't you agree?

yes, another benefit of a peace agreement.

JJE

Civilian infrastructure has been bombarded since 2014. This is the sad reality.

No it hasn't. This is a gross simplification. The active part of the civil war in Ukraine lasted about a year. After that there were almost no bombardments of civilian infrastructure.

Until Russia invaded.

A much more terrible situation is now developing on the frontline territories controlled by Ukraine. The Ukrainian authorities have decided to forcibly evacuate children without parental consent. Evacuate to Europe. Parents are forced to hide their children from their authorities!! Because it is in the case of evacuation to Europe that the panic of parents is connected. It is in Europe that the most terrible things happen to such children.

Another 700,000 children to be shown the "benefits" of nihilism and who will never fall in love. Kids who will spread the vital message of Russia into the future.
