The remains of a newborn baby boy have been found at a sewage plant in Fujisawa, Kanagawa Prefecture, police said Friday.
According to police, the remains were found lodged against a metal grate at around 3:40 p.m. on Thursday by a plant worker who was checking the water flow, Kyodo News reported.
Police believe the infant may have been flushed down the toilet immediately after birth.

How do flush a newborn baby down a toilet? Sometimes I have to clear my toilet pipes, just for solvable food.

More baby hatches please. There is only one and it's way down in Kumamoto. The govt. can proactively do something about this but they never do. That's why we'll keep reading these awful new reports over and over and over. My heart aches.

Seconded, support for the mothers is of course a huge necessity that is only barely being fulfilled, but it is also desirable to have options that would let newborns to survive even if the mother can't take responsibility.
It is of course an ethical problem (specially considering how the newborns will have a right to know about their birth later in life) but at this point is clear that refusing to have the hatches means babies will die.

I find all of these instances to be incredibly upsetting. As I said before about many similar incidents involving families,better social services please.

What a horrible discovery made by that man, if it was me, the image and thought of it would haunt me for life. There needs to be more help for mothers to be who find themselves in precarious situations, but very little is forthcoming which shows that the Japanese government just does not care.

Japan needs to have severe punishments for these monsters who kill the newborn babies! Because it is in all aspects murder of a human! They (parties involved) believe that they can have a baby and kill the baby without any consequences! This has been happening far too often recently! Japan KNOWS its an ongoing problem for so long that they made a horror movie about the baby someone left in a train station locker. Come on Japan! Be better! Stand up for these innocent and defenseless babies!
