Now this another routine makes me curious how inhumane treatment he had received.

When my age of 90s I don't want to hold that strong grudge but lead a calm rest of life...

Some Japanese politicians say the Korean labors were treated equally to Japanese ones at least in there living and wages (regardless of their will to work for Japan).

Is there any information on the plaintiffs' story about what their lives as labors were like?

Posted in: Fukushima water release stokes fresh fears for fisherman See in context

@lunatic

According to what they say, the contaminations other than tritium are all removed by the ALPS. In that sense the released water is comparable to that other countries have released so far. That's their theory... I don't want to doubt about that... We will see in decades...

I don't think the gov or Tepco lies about the degree of water contamination as many other countries do release water containing tritium.

However I still oppose the releasing water because it would be very possible to take 100 years to decompose the power plant. Who knows the total of the released water can NEVER affect the environment or any health?

Now majority of people world wide think the water is harmfully contaminated. Once any negative effect is found, Japan will be in seriously difficult situation.

Posted in: Metaverse in spotlight but doubts arise See in context

I don't believe that the metaverse can be more than just entertainment.

When I want to get something online, why do I have to put on VR goggles, turn into an avatar, go to a virtual shop, maybe talk to a shop staff avatar and finally get it? I just want to do a few clicks to get it instead.

Why do I have to expect a realistic avatar to have an online meeting? We can already do it as a genuine person with just a camera and a mic.

AR and VR can be helpful as a simulator but it doesn't have to be in the metaverse.

Posted in: Machine magic or art menace? Japan's first AI manga See in context

All the incompetence of AI-generated manga mentioned here is a matter of development and time.

AI can already write a novel. So it's very likely that we'll soon see fully AI-generated manga, including story and drawing though it may take more time to gain its individuality as an artist such that we can always tell this manga is written by Jojo's artist.

The problem is that the Japanese tend to prefer tedious manual work. If they underestimate AI and cling to physical labor, they would lose significant market share to emerging foreign artists who are good at using AI, as we already see in robot (where is poor asimo now?) and car industries.

Posted in: Why are there so many reincarnation and villainess anime and manga? Manga editor explains See in context

The very important point is missing. This stupid genre doesn't require authors to deeply investigate the topic before writing, so that the entry barriers are just low. Japanese cartoons used to be unique and fantastic for their wide variety of themes including sports, cooking, arts, gambling to name a very few, where the authors had to have enough knowledge. But they're slacking off these days. All you need to do for Isekai stories is maybe playing online video games (the characters can always check their own status...). Today I have to say manga artists from the other countries e.g. French, who leaned it from the legendary Japanese artists like H. Miyazaki, have much better potentials...
