He's not human.

At this point, if he comes to the plate with the bases loaded, you just walk him and take the run.

Nobody else is even in consideration for MVP at this point.

And just a couple of days ago commenters were saying he is broken down because he hadn't hit 9 home runs in the past half-hour (or something like that....)

Great for him! Well done. Now, if the other team members can help to move up from 3rd place.

Another jaw-dropping performance from the GOAT Ohtani! The sky is the limit for that freak!

And just a couple of days ago commenters were saying he is broken down

Just ignore the know-nothing haters.

Hope his back is ok.

Aaron Loup (1-2) struck out two in a hitless 10th for his first win in 1 1/2 seasons with the Angels after seven losses.

Congratulations, I think.

He not going to the playoffs

Ohtani was on base three times and nobody knocked him in, figured he have to do it himself…moonshot!

Friends at the game sent us a clip they took of his home run. They, and the crowd, went wild. The next trading deadline is the end of this month, so there is some speculation about Ohtani's contract being sold by then. He will be a free agent at the end of this season, and then is seen as likely to get $700 million, or more. No one knows where he will go next.

It is a shame that the Angels are barely above .500 in the win-loss category.

The Angels don't use paper tickets anymore, and our friends didn't see anyone selling programs, so it is a little harder to save souvenirs. Interestingly, they said that about 40% of those in attendance seemed to be Yankee fans. The last time I went, to a Freeway Series, I'd estimate that about 60% of the fans were there for the Dodgers.

What an absolute waste that he is on a team which is going nowhere fast.

As time passes, he is wasting himself on go-nowhere .500 team.

Absolute waste.

When I saw Ohtani in a freeway series game, he pitched, pinch hit, knocked in a run, and scored a run. No home runs that time. The Dodgers still beat them.

@1glenn he won't get $700 million but he will become the highest paid athlete.

I can't even imagine that much money. I still remember when Koufax and Drysdale went on strike, over at the Dodgers. They were trying to get $100,000. per year, which very few had done up to that time. They got it. I imagine that today a promising high school player would get more than that.

Whatever amount of money he makes or where he plays, this is the man to watch. Back in the days when major leaguers had to work over the winter, and $100,000 was top pay, the owners abused the talent they had. Now they have to pay for what the player is worth. No one is worth more than Ohtani. No one.

Ohtani is in the same category as Michael Jordan in basketball or Messi in soccer. Even if you have little interest in the sport, Ohtani is such a master at what he does, and it's not just the home runs but it's his skill and instinct for how the game is to be played with the purpose of winning. He steals bases, he bunts he gets the base hits, the sacrifice fly. Oh, and he pitches! He has over 100 strike outs, and defensively he looks as though he could play as well as any shortstop. He really is impressive, remarkable, incredible, etc.

Best athlete on earth!

Next contract, Ohtani will command the highest salary ever paid for a sports person - far exceeding the likes of Ronaldo ($450 million/year) or Messi. It is even possible he may approach $1 billion per year!
