Take your Pokemon Go game to new heights with the newly released Pokemon Go Plus +. This device connects directly to your smart device, catches Pokemon automatically and checks out Pokestops all while being tucked away inside your bag.

The device can also help track your sleeping patterns with alerts by Pikachu telling you to either go to bed or wake up.

It takes about 3 1/2 hours to fully charge the Pokemon Go Plus + via a USB Type C port and it weighs less than 100 grams.

For the ultimate Pokemon Go experience, you can purchase this device for ¥6,578 online

"Wanna play Pokemon Go, but not really? For fifty bones, we'll do it for you"

This seems like a very desperate move by Niantic, other games with a similar concept have not been successful, so they don't want to let this one die, but since people are no longer interested in constantly keeping their attention in the game while walking this seems like a compromise so they can still "play" the game without paying it any attention.

The problem I see is that people still want to use their phones for other things, so if the gadget still requires the game to be active in the screen then that is still not going to work for them.

Nothing desperate, just business. This is just an updated version and these devices have been available since 2016 soon after the game was released. Apparently quite popular.

Nothing desperate, just business

When the best you can do for your game is to put out something that can let people play less that can be validly called desperate. It may help keeping peopple on the app for more time when they are already on the brink of changing to other forms of entertaiment, but the simple fact that the device is meant for the game to play itself means people will begin to notice why they don't want to do it themselves anymore.
