I wonder if the bus that can barely park on the city curb doing mammograms has clinicians that are making these delicate assessments? My suspicion is they are processing people through like a Moss burger drive-thru given what I see during lunch hour. But that could be irrational, non-scientific observation.

Surprised that the coach is not a female. Women's football has been popular and supported for many, many years at this point.

I for one have admired the EU for keeping GMO from the US out. Frankly more for the fact that agriculture has always been keeping seeds from prior crops to grow the next season. With GMO seeds farmers are in breach of contract to do what has been done for 10,000 + years. Although I also believe it should be labeled as what it is for consumers to decide.

Since cross breading plants and selecting the strongest to propagate has always been done, I fail to see what the commission is actually approving. Unless, they are using common well understood terms to mean something wildly different in hopes of pulling the wool over everyone's eye to get something passed many would not otherwise support. But that is probably just my own cynicism, maybe.

Not "created by", why would this language be used. Dead people do not, will not, create anything. To use today's parlance, this is debunked, with out evidence given, misinformation.

Great summary of the feel I had from the young Chinese I was around in Beijing over the winter months '88/'89 while I was there. I was in Japan when the CCP decided to kill their own people, so sad.

Speaking off the cuff, probably Norway's since I think (could very well be wrong), it is at least partially funded by oil profits the country has realized over the years and not the demographic ponzi scam of most other countries.

When you design pet food, there's a huge carbon footprint difference between having lamb in the recipe or having beef.

No mention of transport of said ingredients, shipping from China I suspect is a huge footprint for these ingredients (not to mention historically deadly to the pets).

Posted in: U.S. energy secretary says G7 can lead global emissions cuts See in context

This is a spurious straw man argument. No government is pretending it is that simple, and the costs and impacts of switching are being widely researched and accounted for in formulating policy.

I disagree, speaking for the US only, until middle 2000's all that was needed to stop climate change was compact florescent light bulbs and consolidating errands in your car- simple! Then, simple, stop coal fired plants, simple. Then stop ICE autos, simple. Plastics are evil, simple. All of these are very easy to say but the implications of no plastics in a hospital, food delivery to cities with electric vehicles costing 2x the cost and 1/3 more time, etc., ect.

Contrary to your statement, I believe people are indeed being told it will be easy- "buy an EV, save the planet ". How about some honest dealing, "we are not able to provide the energy needs that you have today, so everyone will have a lower quality of life, at least for now, but we will save the planet in the long run"?

If this green movement was a middle school paper, it would be graded an "F" for lack of consideration of implementation. The idea that, "fossil fuel, bad, must stop now" with no calculus on how this impacts everything is just astonishing.

Renewable energy, fantastic, all for it. However, moving from 100+ years of one integrated energy source to multiple (wind, solar, etc) with serious limitations in 10 or less years (at least in what the US is proposing) is either groupthink fantasy or calculated mendacity.

How about a process where by US tax payers can allocate their tax dollars paid (not credited) are sent to, say 10 (pick a number) categories to pay into. The total tax receipts will not change but individuals can direct their payments specifically to certain outcomes. This would be the best form for democracy withe a capital "D".

Oddly, lots of ideological bickering, but no actual responses to creating a zero based budget, which would seem to be the best way to reduce the amount of money the US borrows from friends and China.
