OPEC is a cartel
If oil companies like Exxon, Shell, BP, etc. operate like a cartel and rig gasoline prices much like OPEC rigs oil prices (instead of competing with each other), people would be marching with pitch forks and burning their offices
So why support the OPEC cartel

There are essentially only two oil companies in Japan now: Apollo and Enejet.
And they absolutely do rig forecourt prices already.

Greedy bunch of autocracies without a thought for anything but their own comfort forgetting they rely on us for their defence (with the exception of the murderous thugs in the kremlin) so the quicker we stop relying on their polluting product the better for the whole world and this sort of action merely incentivises everyone to bring the day closer.
