Posted in: Women get far more migraines than men: A neurologist explains why, and what brings relief See in context

Women are meant to have babies.

No surprise they feel less or no migraine while pregnant.

Nature leads the way, like it or not.

Life expectancy of women who had at least a child is higher than those who did not.

Japanese government should use those facts to promote childbearing ;)

Disposable diapers are the biggest expense. Here's what we did: we knew our babies' BM timing, in which case we'd spring for disposable; otherwise, we'd use cloth and just rinse them out in the sink. Cut diaper costs by 80%.

Chabbawanga A heartwarming story. The nursery school we send our kids to require we supply enough disposable diapers to last as long as needs be. The vast majority of parents do not have the time or energy required to time the bowel movements of their kids.

You would not have time or energy to take care of your own kids, if you did not have enough money to buy all needed diapers ?

I did for my first when we had a tight budget. I am no superman.

Otherwise, I am not the one who will say that Japan's birth and childcare policies are sensible, adapted to need and implemented in time. Lol

The police did not reveal whether the family members have admitted to the charges.

Why hide that ? Of course each among the three must have stated something.

Police just asking for confession only, and not the facts.

The head could have easily been staying in the girls bedroom for some time.

The father may have just bought tools because daughter made up a story. It is plausible.

And the mother, staying at home, there is no information so far that would tell she is an accomplice.

Why not reveal all clues obtained so far ???

Do police think there are additional people involved ? If so say it !

People here have no clue about psychology and/or biology, outside Japan is a paradox.

I gave a plausible (means possible for the ones who don't know...) example of case where a mother could have hatred for a child. Rape is traumatic if some did not know.

Here is an example of study (US but anyone can relate that to Japan) : https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6357953/

And so some women can't or psyche doesn't accept being pregnant until too late or before water breaks, believe it or not. It is called pregnancy denial :

https://www.news-medical.net/health/Pregnancy-Denial.aspx

All this is objectively scientifically assessed.

So before judging, know what you are talking about when a life is at stake.

Never said or will ever say the outcome was satisfactory. It was so sad fot the poor baby.

One cannot be Judge and Party by principal in order to deliver an unbiased result.

Third-party is a concept totally foreign to Japan because you know if one loses faces, one has to erase oneself in such mind...

I know that perfectly because I have worked in second's world third party in Japan as technical, quality and risk manager for the industry, certification, building and verification fields...

In addition, the wa harmony shall not be disturbed, like if there was a Jedi force floating in Japan. On the contrary, it is full of Sith lords to be purged of. I mean Japan is no longer a medieval world in its judicial system, isn'it.. ?

Prayer for the victims and criminals or anyone involved in such crimes shall pay not a price but the price for their deeds.

And obtaining apologies and compensation make of you rather a prostitute than a victim, no ? Kitagawa was a criminal and shall be judged as so.

Imagine Epstein fiends saying "sorry" we thought you were liking it, we apologize and give you some money to shut up. Next !

And making money out of something routinely making you more money too.

I feel hatred on the spot but wkthin seconfs one need to imagine a specific case for that to happen.

That woman may have been raped, not realized she was pregnant (I know some think it is impossible) and had no money to pay for abortion at the time. Then she may have expressed her anger on the baby representing all the pain she had accumulated after her ordeal.

Just one of many plausible scenario.

Understanding the root causes make you smart, not mean nor a murder lover.

By experience and after personal study, yes Japanese don't give life overall as much importance as Christians (and surely other cultural system) do. Killing your own family is seen as fate and an end of the same temper , hence same defaults in the blood line.

Sumo is semi-religious. Hardly no action can be personal.

Never ever expressing anger, show off or political views. True rikishi is humble and value Japan above all.

I went a few times to watch the Nagoya tournament.

Once I was with my wife and I told her Chiyonofuji (living legend of his time) was just a few meters above us commenting the matches, also in a standard box seating. Even she got excited.

He was sometimes coming and going as any normal person, without anyone harassing him. That everyone respect can only be provided by high education...

Barbie must be fun but just a movie no one will remember.

Oppenheimer, I will remember, having watched it in IMAX.

My expectation were high. Movie was much more about feelings than showing life of R. Oppenheimer and discoveries and its consequences. Very far from sciences, in a movie often dreamlike were you don't see any geniuses, you get close to porn scenes (why on hell did they need to show the guy fully naked 2 or 3 times, and explicit showing of having sex, not for kids PG16), and last third about politics only in a useless frantic way. Not my taste at all after all, as an engineer and having read his biography and about project Manhattan, does not depict at all the real life of the guy : serious, keeping to his ideas, patriot.

as the spacecraft pushed above 80 kilometers (50 miles) in altitude, the level marking the edge of space where the pull of gravity is minimal.

Only for the NASA and US military space starts at 50km. Foe the international community, it is the Kármán line at 100km.

Altitude and pull of gravity are related...but never gravity goes close minimal pull, as Newton law obliges.

Even at 100 km, if no speed, then gravity is close to about 9.5m/s2, meaning you weight then about 3.5% less than on the surface.

It is only because the fligh is parabolic that you get the feeling of absence of gravity.

Don't watch too many Hollywood movies !
