Over 82% of over 65s are vaccinated. These infection numbers, as high as they are, represent the last gasp of this virus in Japan.

This is not accurate, we are a long way away from the "last gasp".

At least, it was not 5,000!

Maybe more, gotta keep it under the 5000 threshold as not to create a panic.

Within Tokyo as of 11 Aug total of 19,000 patients are asked to recover at home which is a ten times growth over four week

This is not going to resolve itself well.

I hope the vaccine rollout is accelerated.

The pandora's box has already been opened. Do yourself a favour and do the proper things to, take good care of your family, as I believe vaccinations will not help this wave, maybe the next.

Let’s just copy the rest of the world to try and persuade people to get vaccinated, until the next variant proves immune to the jab.

Posted in: New York Gov Cuomo resigns over sexual harassment allegations See in context

great spin attempt by liberals trying to frame this as a good thing. their top guy showed "integrity" by resigning

This is not about a poor old grandpa calling women ‘dear’ in the checkout line. It isn’t about not being able to kiss babies on the campaign trail because times have changed. The actual conduct he’s accused of if you’d actually listen to the women is genuine and sexual harassment which even that grandpa in line would have gotten in trouble for 40 years ago. And that grandpa never did such things, because being a decent human being isn’t some newfangled Twitter thing. He’s only taking responsibility for things that he’s willing to see from his perspective, and from his perspective he’s just sorely misunderstood. He’s resigning because it’s the right thing for us, he’s making a huge sacrifice and wants to be remembered as a hero for doing it. It’s really sick. And just knowing his brother likely had a hand in this just underscores that we don’t need anyone named Cuomo in the public sphere now or ever again.

If you can control perception you can control reality, that's what the media does. Learn about the psychology of the media, then let go of the fear and have a nice time.

The only way out of this is the majority of people getting vaccinated - not just the vulnerable.

The only way out of this mess is for people to stop acquiescing and question what's going on all over the world.

The media are doing everything in their power to dumb down the masses. Once our freedoms are taken away from us, they will never come back. Question authority, speak your truth or live on your knees for the rest of your lives. Vaccines have nothing to do with it.

The purpose is to have less dead people by the time the population is immunized, if they achieve this purpose obviously they are not meaningless.

Unless the virus mutates to another covid version which will render the original vaccines useless.

If the law says you must close because of a pandemic there is little you can do.

I believe there is no law that states what you said. It's all on a volunteer basis. Technically he could sue and win.

The crime of saving a foreigner that would never get a fair trial in Japan, proving to the world what a farce the Japanese justice system is.

I agree. Everyone will be paid a minimum wage. Or like Marx said, just enough for the worker to be able eat the bare minimum needed to make it physically to work, work, go home and do it all again the next day.

That's how Japanese are living now.
