Please. No one would ever notice the map in a movie.

So the Philippines had concern over a Barbie map but they didn’t have any problem with their ex president kowtowing and bending over backwards to China for years? Glad they got their priorities straight!

Hollywood needs to stop kowtowing to China.

Dashed lines drawn in a "child-like manner" appeared in several locations on the map around land masses identified as Europe, North America, South America, Africa and Asia, the censors said.

But it found only eight dashes around the landmass labelled "Asia".

It's just a movie. Does everything have to EXACT?

On the last evening of the trump dictatorship I saw the controversial movie 'Caligula' which describes Donald TrumpChump exactly to a T. Every bit of it. For just a minute or so there was visible a half hazard map of the Roman Empire on a mural. It wasn't very accurate. The real Roman Empire extended to Germany, almost to modern Poland as well as Arabia, Crimea and nearly out to India but that mural didn't show that. It was just a brief, and I mean brief display of the Empire. It hardly showed the African territories either and Rome did rule quite a bit of that too.

The empire map wasn't exact but that wasn't the point, even if that movie was based on a true story.

So why are so many people making such a fuss about a brief map display in a completely fictional story being told in a movie? 'Caligula' was real, 'Barbie' is not.

I just don't get all this ado about nothing.

A lot of pink about nothing.

Just what the Philippines needs, more Western crap from Hollywood.

This is a very surreal time to be alive.

People are scrutinizing a cartoon map childishly drawn in a movie where dolls talk and drive cars.

The Philippines is doing the right thing, sending a message to China that it will not accept the attempts to spread falsehoods.

Was it a China made movie?

Believe me, no one in China wants to see this air head movie, well, maybe a few might want to because of the hubbub, but I'm sure they will leave the theater disappointed.

Barbenheimer is coming! Barbenheimer is coming!

"The Barbie-Oppenheimer Double Feature Is Really Happening, Data Shows - Nothing says a perfect five hours of cinema like a drama about the creation of the nuclear bomb and a brightly-colored comedy about the world’s most famous doll."

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-07-11/tickets-to-barbie-oppenheimer-double-feature-selling-fast-at-theaters-data-show

Barbenheimer isn’t just a meme. There’s plenty of evidence that people around the globe are making plans to see two of the most-anticipated movies of the summer — which happen to be stark contrasts of each other — on the same day.

A film about the bomb and another about a bombshell don’t make for the most obvious double feature. Nolan’s Oppenheimer is an R-rated, three-hour dramatic epic, while Greta Gerwig’s Barbie is a PG-13 comedy that runs just under two hours. But ever since the announcement that both films would be released on the same day, the pairing has been a big internet joke — manifesting in memes and merchandise.

AMC, the world’s largest movie chain, says more than 20,000 of its AMC Stubs members have already booked Barbie and Oppenheimer on the same day.

UK cinema chain Vue says that as of Tuesday, 19% of people who booked tickets to see Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer also bought tickets for Greta Gerwig’s Barbie.

“We’ve put on as many screenings as possible of both films to accommodate high demand,” says Rob Lea, head of screen content for UK & Ireland at Vue, one of the UK’s largest cinema chains with more than 870 screens.

Alamo Drafthouse, the U.S. cinema chain known for serving dinner and drinks during its films, is seeing demand for “Barbenheimer” in its private events business, which rents out screens for corporate events and private gatherings like birthday parties.

“The requests to hire out spaces for Barbie and Oppenheimer double bills have been coming in for months,” says Nick Isani, private-event sales manager for the East Coast at Alamo Drafthouse. He says there has been a “significant number” of requests to program both films for private events like parties, and that it is unique to receive requests for a double bill on films seemingly so different.

Barbie is tracking to sell more tickets overall, with low-end estimates from Box Office Pro. showing at least a $85 million opening weekend for the pop delight, compared with $45 million for Oppenheimer.

Oh the Barbenheimer memes on the interwebs! Lol

Word is, Ken actually carries the movie, more than Barbie. A lot of girls and women who grew up with Barbie are going to see it

"Wonder Woman" Lynda Carter has put up her itinerary, like so many others:

WBs: Film making needs money which the Philippines cannot afford...

Some brilliant marketing by the lame movie industry to whip up some bad=good publicity for a movie that they know is gonna bomb.

Normally, something as mundane as the geographical or political accuracy of a map wouldn't really register on people's radar but by bringing attention to it on the news and social media...well yeah; now everyone's going to be honing in on it. They brought this on themselves really.
