@Anicerainbow

You are not wrong. In some countries like Australia and Canada housing is so expensive that higher wages are soon all spent on shared basement suites.

The longer NATO drags out this losing venture, the more countries line up to join the BRICs; not a good thing for the long term safety and security of the planet.

Posted in: Ford product chief looking to turn car sensors into features customers will buy See in context

I have driven a car with a broken sensor in the catalytic converter which meant that the environment warning light was always on. The only way to replace the $1 sensor was to replace the catalytic converter and nobody would do that. I have also driven a pick up with automatic braking that had to be disabled because the truck thought that a little bit of snow or grass was an object.

I am smart enough, like 99% of people to know when a wiper blade needs to be replaced without having more sensors in a vehicle and although I grew up in Canada and have done a heck of a lot of camping there, cannot think of a single time when I wanted a vehicle to honk at bears in the middle of the night.

Who disagrees? The F16 first production models rolled out of the factory in 1978. It is extremely old outdated and cannot compete with the Su-35 introduced decades later in in 2013. Russia also has a few Su-57s that make F16s look like the rust buckets that they are.

An F16 today is as many years out of date as a Spitfire would have been in Gulf War; 45 years old.

@Haaa Nemui Ukraine doesn't have to negotiate, but they are not going to win either. Boots on the ground.

NATO needs an exit ASAP.

Posted in: Ukraine says Russian troops advancing in 'fierce fighting' See in context

It seems western media is starting to let the truth slip out, using the word "failed." Every day the Russian army grows in strength and every day the Ukrainian forces become a little bit more depleted of both men and equipment.

NATO needs to save face now and agree to some sort of peace deal. Enough on this nonsense that the Ukraine will "liberate" Crimea and enough of this nonsense of sending the Ukrainians to go die is a losing cause.

@SAME# My grandmothers and grandfathers, raised a lot of kids, tilled the fields, worked long hard hours and led fulfilling lives. Working 8 hours a day would have seemed like a holiday for them. Put your phone down, get off your butt and do something meaningful with your life. There are 16 waking hours a day, how do you spend them watching cat videos or actually doing something.

The thousands on men who lost their jobs during the pandemic suffered as much as any woman in any G7 country and always do. For example the unemployment rate in Canada has always been higher for men than for woman and the pandemic did nothing to change that or the long suffering men trying to feed and house themselves.

Glad to see an admission, of sorts, that it could take years for NATO to dislodge Russian forces. (If ever)

Time for some peace talks by Ukraine before NATO tosses all their young men into death.

Reality matters, this is another NATO lost cost and Ukraine is paying the price. Time for the citizens of Ukraine to cut losses and sue for peace.

Posted in: Putin says he might try to seize nearby territory in Ukraine to prevent cross-border strikes See in context

Surely, this is not the "spring offensive!" So far all they have done is move into Russian forward positions and they are not anywhere near a defensive line yet. The Russians pull back their mobile troops from forward positions and let the Ukrainians move into pre-sighted aire zones.

There must be more to the offensive if they are ever gonna go anywhere.
