@bass So expect gun sales to go through the roof

The pro-gun, anti-democracy fanatics cheer on the country's rapidly accelerating downfall, in hopes their cult leader will bring it down once and for all.

It's a shame that Ohtani is playing for a mediocre team like the Angels that need to use him as much as possible, overuse could put his health at even greater risk. Knock wood this will be his last season with LAA, American League teams and fans would be happier if he played for a National League team next year. Stay healthy Shohei, he is such a fun player to watch play, pitching and hitting.

Not surprising that the anti-west extremists that so frequently assail something they call 'the media' claiming the media are biased and print misinformation because in thos poster's opinion the media do not reflect the poster's perspective. Yet at the same time those posters are still willing to use 'the media' to push unsubstantiated perspectives, even disinformation. But then those posters are just trying to reach their fellow extremists.

The Japanese government is calling for households and industries around Tokyo to save electricity in July and August

Japan, Inc. have known for decades that the country needed to do something about powering vehicles and generating electricity, but instead of shifting to alternative forms of energy they stuck with burning huge amounts of fossil fuels, making the country dependent on oil producing nations, while also relying on nuclear powe. So the nation is stuck today because Japan, Inc. have not been willing or able to make changes. Long, long passed time to elect politicians not controlled by Japan, Inc. Also long passed time for individuals to find more ways to reduce their dependence on institutions that control the generation and distribution of electricity. Time for the government to stop subsidizing big energy corporations and instead help individuals become less dependent on energy institutions.

According to your sources, who did in fact destroy Nord Stream? I have not yet read anything definite about which groups might have been proved to be responsible. But for reliable information, I try to ignore social media accounts and avoid Kremlin-based media.

Putin, his gangster armies and the Kremlin are gtting what they wanted, they have wanted to destroy Ukraine, and figured the 'west' would pay to cleanup the disasters Russia has created, it's worrying to me that even worse disasters (possible nuke plants blown up?) might be ahead, which should please the anti-west supporters, especially the muh Russia social media warriors favoring authoritarianism, and pushing for an acceleration of the destruction of western democracies.

areas flooded by a collapsed dam in southern Ukraine on Wednesday, in a growing humanitarian and ecological disaster along a river that forms part of the front line in the 15-month war.

The final words in the above, refer to a 'war', one started by Russia. Which at this point seems to show the Russians have zero interest in doing anything positive for Ukraine and Ukrainaians, and never have. Instead like fascist extremists throughout history, the Russians have shown all they want to do is continue to harm the Ukrainians,. Yet their pro-Russia/China/Iran supporters seem to glory in the suffering Ukrainians continue to face. The same supporters crow about 'owning' the others, as if that's some sort of victory. Does Russia think that after they return their troops to Russia, that the rest of the world will pick up the tabs to repair the damage Russia has done. Will Russia further weaponize resources to show they 'own' anyone that does not bow down to them? Those that want the Russia-China-Iran bloc to prevail should move there, or move back. No more 'Tokyo living',

There are so many possible benefits of a dramatic reduction in burning fossil fuels, one that is critical is that by using lower amounts of fuel it should reduce the demand for them, which should eventually reduce the amount of money they return to the ruling caste's oil corporations, private and state, which could result in fewer wars for control and the shipment fossil fuel. But to me the most important is reducing the severe environmental impacts crated by burning huge amounts of fossil fuels.

Kyiv and Moscow have blamed each other for the collapse of the Nova Kakhovka dam

Who knows who is responsible for the collapse of the dam, but it's hard to believe Ukrainians actually damaged it, unless perhaps they were paid Russian stooges, given the possible long term problems predicted for the region and the country as a result. Putin and the Kremlin have long shown they have zero regard for the environment, and might even blow up a nuke plant in their zero sum approach to war. The world will continue to lose if Russian/Chinese/Iranian forms of predatory state capitalism go unchecked. None of those states has any regard for the planet, nor for individuals not part of their belief system, regime and caste.

Who knows who is responsible for the damage done to the dam and which side has done what in Ukraine, the reality is that Russia invaded Ukraine, initiating the war. The burden is on Russia and its allies China and Iran to provide the means to help Ukraine rebuild, which should be done as soon as itRussia pulls all its military forces completely out of Ukraine including the areas Russia claims to have annexed.

What a shame that Ukrainian forces and Ukrainian civilian lives along with Russian military and civilian populations continue to be at risk because Putin and the Kremlin, Prizoghin and other Slavic gangsters want to re-establish Soviet Union part 2. The Russian Federation controls roughly 11% of the globe's land mass, and yet it still wants more.China is the third largest geographically and it still ants more. Predatory state capitalism if left unchecked will continue to devour larger portions of the globe and tae more resources so the ruling castes in Russia and China can live even more lavishly.

@baklabel We have our own American problems that the nominee needs to address.

For once I agree with @basslabel, there are huge problems not being addressed, such as corrupt Supreme Court members, corrupt extremist politicians pushing to ban books, and tell women what they can and cannot do with their bodies, and one of the biggest problems a widening wealth gap, and a Republican Political party that wants to fight culture wars while offering no policies that would benefit the majority of the country. While the two leading Republican candidates push agendas that harm businesses, benefit the richest establishment members in the US and abroad, and alienate most US Americans.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis repeatedly hit his chief rival, Donald Trump, from the right.

The two Florida-males are competing to see which can become the most extreme rightist the country has ever seen.

Not surprising with the current reports about Trump having been said to want to further enrage Iran, that he and his media are pointing their warmonger fingers away from Trump. But will Trump want to make Iran angrier knowing Trump's pal Putin partners up with the Ayatollah. They're also forgetting Trump kept up the US military involvement in Afghanistan before messing things up there even more. Pretty much everything Trump touched was messed up, but he did lead the movement to reduce the taxes of the richest, while not paying his share.

Simple solution, all Prizoghin has to do is bring his baby killers back to Russia, put them back in prison, and for the Chechen butcher to bring his baby killers back to their homes in the Russian Federation, and keep them there.

Putin seems to be unraveling along with his state, will the world see the Soviet Union collapse redux? What is worrying is which fascist faction will. take the most nukes from the Russian arsenal. And given Russian people seem to prefer to be ruled by a brutal tyrant, which rough beast slouching toward Moscow time has come around at last (apologies to Yeats).

And also because Putin knows the Russian people are terrified of asking any questions, therefore they won't challenge him or his fellow kleptocrats. Putin is the Russian leader until 2036, unless the Russian ruling caste want him to stay even longer.
