Posted in: Japan calls Russia nuclear threat 'unacceptable' on Hiroshima anniversary See in context

Japan, as the only nation to have suffered atomic bombings in war, will continue efforts towards a nuclear-free world

I didn't know that.

Kishida should have told us that before.

Wow, anti foreigner.com on this story.

There is plenty of graffiti on the walls, desks etc where I work in Japan. All done by Japanese university students.

Hmm

I live in Setagaya-ku due to schooling for kids, but work in Shonan.

It's ok. Looks pretty much the same as every area of Tokyo.

False flag Steve is correct. Osaka is better than Tokyo. Both are far too hot in summer.

A move to Hokkaido is on the cards.

Mitsuki Takahata, who voices Barbie in the dubbed Japanese version, posted on Instagram on Wednesday that she was dismayed upon learning of the memes marketing campaign and considered dropping out of a promotional event in Tokyo hyping its opening on Aug. 11.

Off you go then, you talentless twerp

She just wanted to gaman-suru the trail with the poor kid,

That's terrible! I hate 'gaman-suru'. What does it actually ever achieve?

In Japan people grow up learning about the dangers of climbing Mt Fuji

Do they?

Women's football is incredibly dull anyway. Very little skill compared to the men's game, and I always cringe when I see men getting really into women's football.

It's like you're forcing yourselves to like it just to fit in and feel involved

It's rubbish

@fighto!

I don't ignore him. He speaks sense.

You on the other hand, regurgitate phrases such as 'gaffer' and other nicknames for teams that you learned on Google.

It takes all sorts I suppose

A terrible person. Deserves longer if you ask me.

On the other hand, parents abusing and killing their kids don't seem to get sentences anywhere near that here.

A strange justice system

Posted in: Japanese high school kids average 12% correct answers in English oral test See in context

Let's be honest - a good percentage of these kids will be able to get by perfectly into the future without a lick of English

That's not the point though, is it.

I'm surprised the percentage is that high. The fault lays at the door of the poor standard of Japanese English teachers at high schools here. Most of them can't speak English properly.

Having lived in Japan for almost 10 years, I have no qualms about eating Japanese seafood. I also lived in China for almost 5 years, didn't like the food, and would happily never eat Chinese food ever again.

But completely respect the Chinese worries about eating Japanese fare
