That looks more of a coupe than a roadster, given its fastback roof structure. Roadsters are supposed to be roofless.

JeffLee: There are a couple versions of this fourth-gen Mazda Roadster / Miata. There's this one - the retractible hardtop - which opens just above the driver's head, and has a couple-like profile when the top is closed... and then there's the traditional soft-top version that opens all the way like a true roadster. Both are quite fun to drive! I think the latter is preferable since you get more fresh air and a simpler-to-maintain top, but some people like the increased rigidity and better theft-resistance of the more coupe-like body.

I don't know about this version, but long ago when the Mazda Miata came out, I tried it out but I had a very difficult time seeing through the windshield. Maybe I was too tall for the car

car is popular abroad but in Japan is very minor market player...

We used to have one. They're fun cars and corner like a dream. Japan's too hot for convertibles though. Very strong UV when the sun shines too. We didn't use ours with the top down much, so you just end up with a dark cramped interior and lots of road noise.

A woman's sports car but I like them.

Got an older version, 04 registered. Nice little 2 seater; the MG I had before handled better on corners on the narrow winding country roads where I live being mid engined and had a better kick in the ar*se acceleration when you needed it. The Mazda engine is much more reliable but produces more pollution so costs me a lot more in tax.

Very nice ride. I used to have one. It was great for over 10 years!! Very Fun car to drive. Great on the curves visiting Niko and other nice mountain drives.
