Well there you have it: Putin won't even listen to this motley bunch of non-democrats.

"Putin reiterated his position that Ukraine and its Western allies had started the conflict long before Russia sent its armed forces over the border in February last year".

Once again and as always PUTAin twisting the facts!

He and his associates are the aggressors!

He and his associates attacked a sovereign country.

He and his associates destroy, loot, murder, deport, rape, terrorize (also) the civilian population of Ukraine.

He and his associates will be held accountable!

Ukraine prevails!

Putin reiterated his position that Ukraine and its Western allies had started the conflict long before Russia sent its armed forces over the border in February last year, something they deny.

Which is complete BS.

He said the West, not Russia, was responsible for a sharp rise in global food prices early last year that has hit Africa especially hard.

Nope. It was Putin.

Putin said Moscow was "open to constructive dialogue with anyone who wants to establish peace on the principles of fairness and acknowledgement of the legitimate interests of the parties".

Obviously not. Because these leaders wanted to establish peace on the principles of fairness and acknowledgement of the legitimate interests of the parties.

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Putin is only interested in his terms which do not involve the withdrawal of troops from the areas occupied by Russia.

11 ( +14 / -3 )

Puttie's misses another chance to take an off-ramp.

So he will get to leave the hard way.

Why can’t these chaps sit down and have a civil chat like gentleman? I mean, talking doesn’t involve deaths and destruction.

Lets get the facts straight both these two chaps, both are vile and egotists, caring about themselves rather than the common man.

It’s the common man whose fighting this beastly conflict to satisfy these man egos, many pressed ganged by both sides. Neither leaders friends or family are on the frontline.

These tyrants need reigning in, neither have decent morals

Zelensky ignored everything they had to say, and simply demanded they unthinkingly adopt the White Bloc demands.

Putin listened to what they had to say, pointed out the difficulties (the White Bloc determination to force the population of all of what used to be a united democracy into submitting to the government the White Bloc installed in 2013) in their plan being implemented, and asked them to consider continuing to work on their plan.

I dunno why doesn't Putin sit down? I guess because it would me he'd have to return what he stole.

Both Ukrainians and Russians are "white". Putin dismissed the proposals.

Zelensky ignored everything they had to say, and simply demanded they unthinkingly adopt the White Bloc demands.

Because Zelensky is 100% on the right side here and has to concede nothing. Also interesting that Russia isn't part of your "White Bloc". I think you need to clarify your racism.

Putin listened to what they had to say, pointed out the difficulties (the White Bloc determination to force the population of all of what used to be a united democracy into submitting to the government the White Bloc installed in 2013) in their plan being implemented, and asked them to consider continuing to work on their plan.

Putin had the obligation to not be a deceitful little something and not recognize the post-Maidan government if he didn't think it was legitimate. They had that one dude in Moscow to make it happen.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

A lie. Neither side is listening to them. It's just for show, like the Chinese plan.

But in any case, how would you feel if everyone told you to stop fighting back against someone who invaded your land because it's causing them inconvenience?

To get the facts straight, as you say, isn’t to represent the two sides as morally equivalent in any way. That’s patently ridiculous. Russia is the aggressor and Ukraine is just defending itself. The war would end tomorrow if Russia left Ukraine. Period.

Thats correct but ignoring the facts and history between the countries is irresponsible and regressive, period, lol

-15 ( +2 / -17 )

Making excuses for Putin's invasion every day is more irresponsible and regressive, lol.

Thats correct but ignoring the facts and history between the countries is irresponsible and regressive, period, lol

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Interestingly, one of the definitions of “regressive” is returning to a former state. That’s exactly what Putin is trying to do. “New realities” really means Russia hasn’t been able to get over the fall of the Soviet Union and will not attempt to.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Haaa

Who cares, I don’t. Just want the war to end. Didn’t known Putin wanted to rebuild the Soviet Union.

Long history between these nations, invaded by the Russia’s, then the Nazis where thousands decided to join the SS and become concentration camp guards. Many of the populace favoured Nazi rule over the Soviets and that lingers on now and those that have those sentiments are now on the side of Zelensky, hence the Nazi style signia on their uniforms and their Nazi tattoos.

-13 ( +1 / -14 )

Just want the war to end.

You keep saying that, yet when the fastest way for it to happen is presented to you, you protest in favor of the Russians.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

Haaa

No I don’t, I despise both sides leaders equally

-13 ( +0 / -13 )

Just want the war to end.

You seem awfully excited to comment on the war and how Ukraine is doing for someone that just wants it to end.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

Haaa

Don't be silly, I just want facts brought out rather than one sided you see

Taiwan

Never excited by death or destruction my dear chap, I despise it.

Merely providing the distasteful facts to provide a more balanced view of the localised squabble.

You don't provide any facts. That's the problem, ffs.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

everybody knows there is a lot of history. The facts are that Russia is invading and occupying a foreign nation. THAT is one sided.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

It is interesting that the people who insist it would be an invasion if Chinese troops attacked the 'breakaway province of Taiwan' insist that it isn't an invasion when Ukrainian troops attack the 'breakaway province of Crimea'.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Is Crimea independent then?

Crimea doesn't have a 74 year history of independence. Nor is it independent today as it was absorbed by Russia.

5 ( +5 / -0 )

the 'breakaway province of Crimea'.

It didn't 'breakaway'. It was 'invaded' and 'annexed' by Russia.

You seem to be as unaware of what happened in 2014 as you are of 2022.

Why do you despise Zelensky?

8 ( +8 / -0 )

No mention of the Wagner Group’s activities in Sudan?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

Wasn’t a problem yesterday when Zelensky also “rebutted” the same exact plan from the same exact people.

Wasn’t a problem yesterday when Zelensky also “rebutted” the same exact plan from the same exact people.

No.

Yesterday Ramaphosa said: “I do believe that Ukrainians feel that they must fight and not give up. The road to peace is very hard," he added. “Today, we even told President Zelenskyy that we not only recognize their (Ukrainians') viewpoint, but we also respect how they feel about the war that’s going on."

6 ( +6 / -0 )

Yeah that is exactly what “wasn’t a problem” when Zelensky rebutted them would look like.

-9 ( +0 / -9 )

Mr. Putin just made a public fool out of Cyril Ramaphosa.

Ugh. This is as wishy washy as it gets. I've heard statements like this from people who think they're being philosophically and morally in the right, with upstanding neutrality, but are nonsensical by way of letting emotion completely reduce their argument to the ridiculous.

Russia attacked Ukraine. In this instance of African intervention, Zelensky won't give in to his sovereign country being compromised by a complete misdoing by Putin. Putin, on the other hand, is lying to make his own echo chamber. It's not even close to the truth, and the bottom line is he wants Ukraine, something that is not his.

In your world, if your country was unilaterally attacked by another wanting to take yours over, you would be saying, 'peace, brother! Let's give in to the attacker'. You think like that. You need to reassess what you perceive as neutrality.

It's not a neutral situation. I mean, if you want to be a country that plays a patsy and gives into peace talks that destroy your democracy and your sovereignty, sure go on arguing as you do. Neutrality has a right and wrong in itself, at times, and this is not one where being neutral is right, but if you believe in peace under all circumstance, you're not looking at this with critical thought.

Wasn’t a problem yesterday when Zelensky also “rebutted” the same exact plan from the same exact people.

Mr. Zelenskyy asked the African leaders to ask the Russians for confidence building measures such as a prisoner exchange. That request was refused by the Russian side.

9 ( +9 / -0 )

No mention of the Wagner Group’s activities in Sudan?

Because it is not related to the matter at hand.

3 ( +3 / -0 )

FalseFlagSteve

you obviously think Zelenskyy should just surrender.

10 ( +10 / -0 )

Mr. Zelenskyy asked the African leaders to ask the Russians for confidence building measures such as a prisoner exchange.

Are the African leaders his messenger boys?

Zelensky doesn’t have a phone?

Lavrov said they had not brought the Russian leader any message from Zelenskiy.

Russia says there was no message. Seems they didn’t ask.
