I presume Russia will have to fire on grain ships or commit some other illegal act to try to stop the shipments. I say let them do so, so we can see what their level of morality truly is.

Russia will extend - they have no choice really. I believe that Turkey said that they will escort the ships, if Russia pulls out.

Russia has been exporting grain to the parts of the world struggling with hunger, but those exports were never in jeopardy and not what the deal was about.
The deal was about letting the Kyiv regime export grain, in exchange for Russia to be able to export fertilizer to Europe.
The Kyiv grain did get exported, almost entirely to the rich White Bloc countries, the Russian fertilizer didn't.
It's not 'food security' that is at risk if the deal doesn't get fixed and extended, it's the White Bloc propaganda that is at risk. They're going to try and buy Russian grain second hand, driving up the cost of food in the places struggling with hunger, and not be able to hide their responsibility from the people outside the White Bloc.

How about countries in Africa start to handle their own food security by producing more?

I don't know what kind of world you live in where food can be grown everywhere and every country is wealthy.

I guess it is good that Ukraine didn't make a deal with criminal Russia and instead made it with the UN. I know Russia has trouble identifying countries but it wasn't Ukraine that banned Russia from SWIFT.
What do you call the outright theft of Ukraine's grain and land then? Russia's dignity is at risk if the grain deal isn't extended, but yeah there isn't much of that left.

Ah, if the murderer from Moscow cannot defeat the UA on the battlefield, and cannot murder enough civilians via air strikes to cow the population, he will starve a bunch of 3rd world citizens and blame it on Ukrainians!
That will surely show them!

Your claim is fertilizer. Here are the top ten destinations for Ukrainian wheat in order:
Egypt, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Philippines, Morocco, Thailand, Tunisia, South Korea, Turkey and India.
No rich white countries among these. The bulk of Ukraine's maize exports went to China and Egypt, with lesser amounts to some European nations, Iran and Israel.

The grain deal - and the premise that it feeds the "worlds poor" - is a fascist lie.
Over 90% of the ships have docked in poor nations such as Turkey, Greece, Italy, Spain, France, Ireland, Germany, Holland.
Anyway, bottom line is the deal has been violated.
Russia can blockade and mine their ports at will.
JJE
The bigger scandal here is that those claiming the moral high ground on fictional grain exports to poor countries are accomplices to actually preventing those countries receiving grain and fertilizer from Russia.
Fortunately Russia has offered grain for free to developing countries impacted by this dishonest grain deal. The press often omits this fact.

The Russians: Let them eat cake! We don’t care!

What's a fascist lie is "there will be no invasion" followed by IT'S GO TIME
Turkey and Greece aren't exactly wealthy.
Does that mean that the stories have been formulated for RT so now something criminal can be done?
Actually they can't mine because Ukraine already has mines around them. You don't think the Russian terrorists would have done something like that on day one if they could have? And as for a blockade, hope Russia is willing to fire on Turkish ships.

No SWIFT relief for fascists.
Probably because it was the only way they could get rid of it.

Won't fire on Turkish ships. Just hole the bulk carriers below the waterline with Kilo subs or whatever. You watch commercial ship operators (and their insurers) run like the wind away.

Ukrainian grain export volume via the Black Sea 2022-2023, selected country https://www.statista.com/statistics/1333847/ukrainian-agricultural-exports-via-the-black-sea-by-country/
China was the leading export destination of agricultural products from Ukraine secured by the Black Sea Grain Initiative as of May 10, 2023, at seven million metric tons. Furthermore, more than five million metric tons went to Spain, while Turkey ranked third. The agreement between Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, and the United Nations opened three Ukrainian ports for agricultural exports. Low and lower-middle income countries received nearly 20 percent of grain exports from Ukraine under the agreement as of January 2023.

Sanction Ukraine, export Russian grain. They have a bumper crop.

Russians using food as a weapon.
How very on-brand of them.
I mean, their weapons objectively suck, so they might as well try to starve innocents and use that as a kind of geo-political pressure to get what their rabble "army" cannot acheive?
TaiwanIsNotChina
And Russia will have an even worse reputation than it does today. This could actually be a positive in the long run.

Only Turkey and the shreds of Putin's dignity stand in the way. What would be immoral is caving into the demands of that madman.
GBR48
So how much damage does Putin have to do before someone pays for a private hit on him, as no regimes will do it? Someone rich and humane who disagrees with the official policy that the suffering of thousands of ordinary people is OK, but no leader can be touched.
PTownsend
That Putin has shown to all but the pro-authoritarian, anti-west extremists, that he is a vile human, is clear. But it's probably unrealistic to think that a state as hideous as Russia does not have even nastier people in the Kremlin and military that would replace Vlad the Vile and be even more hideous that Putin has been. Unfortunate that Russia has such vast reserves of resources and only the nastiest Russians are able to benefit from them, while many in the rest of the Russian Federation population look for ways to escape the country. Non-Russians supporting the Russian/Chinese/North Korean/Iranian bloc should move to one of those nations to replace Russians that want to leave and live in peace.
