Moscow accused Kyiv of firing a missile at a city in southern Russia that officials there said wounded 15 people.

So like 1 for Kyiv vs 10,000 for Moscow? How do they know it wasn't one of their own that misfired or was incompetently targeted?

The attacks have also included killings of Russian-appointed officials on occupied Ukrainian territory.

The Geneva convention strictly forbids the assassination of civilian politicians as a military tactic.

Muscovy launches thousands of missiles and drones targeting civilians but Ukraine defending it's self against an invasion by targeting muscovite military is terrorism? It might just work for their own vodka addled population but the rest of the world sees it for the desperate and delusional lies that it is.

Poor little Russia and its' tinpot army/dictator

2 ( +10 / -8 )

The missile targeted a military target but was intercepted by Russian anti-aircraft missiles and the debris landed in Taganrog in Russia.

If Putin is Ming the Merciless, why have he not obliterated Ukraine,by destroying the political and economic structure of Ukraine, it not like he do have the conventional weapon too do it, inquiring minds want to know why not

The pot calling the kettle black.

1 ( +7 / -6 )

If Russia fought Ukraine ,like they fighting right, now ,why are we spending billion on military, maybe the American people will get wise ,that we need a smaller military and budget for it

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, meanwhile, marked Ukraine’s Statehood Day by reaffirming the country’s sovereignty

Syria's Assad has been doing that for a long time, but we never hear about it.

a rebuke to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who used his claim that Ukraine didn't exist as a nation to justify his invasion.

Putin never made that claim. Why does AP continue to publish such trash.

Putin never made that claim. Why does AP continue to publish such trash.

Because he has made that claim, on several occasions.

UA rockets targetting russian civilian infrastructure.

as they completely out of business in the front lines as their so called spring offensive is long time forgotten proUA media narrative...its called a frustration from own unsuccess.large part of Bradleys and Leopards are pieces good for scrap as they have burned fast and well.

So, Russia’s fault for shooting down the missile, according to Russia’s own logic.

Happy Statehood Day, Ukraine! Keep pounding the invaders!

3 ( +8 / -5 )

It’s true, Russia is inflicting a lot of destruction, so Ukraine should just keep going. Russia was always going to face more of this after the stupid decision to invade.

Thirty years of independence - sovereignty, territory and population lost. Country decimated and taking handouts from Uncle Sam. The Donbass want him fried.

What's there to celebrate? A failed state facing an ominous future.

No mention of that counter offensive (because Donetsk and Lugansk don't subscribe to his cluster shelling).

-11 ( +4 / -15 )

Moscow blames Kiev for fighting back.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

Didn't he notice the nasty civil war raging since 2014 which has resulted in intervention in which 1/6 of the territory has been permanently lost..

That's an odd celebration.

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

Earth to someone: the counter offensive is a disaster. The loss exchange rate is off the charts.

-9 ( +4 / -13 )

Volodymyr and co have ruined UA for good.

once this conflict will end by peace negotiations and guess what-UA position will be much more weaker than its now.same time Russias position will be very different from one they had during Misnk agreements times.

country will be never back in its borders from 2013.

parts may be in Russia, parts may be in Poland or they may be created some "New Ukraine" without Black Sea ports.russian speaking eastern parts of it will never bow on front of bandera junta from Kiev.we will see in very near future how all of this will end.

UA will loose for good own natural resources.no blacksea ports,no coal from Donbass,no heavy industry.but will have nice forest in west Carpathia region so may attract some tourists...?

dont need to mention departure of masses of people as they will see no future for them in failed bandera regime country...

-7 ( +4 / -11 )

Putin never made that claim. Why does AP continue to publish such trash.

While I agree it's a trash comment to make, Putin did indeed say this at the beginning of the invasion.

Earth to someone: the counter offensive is a disaster. The loss exchange rate is off the charts

Lol because you say so? No one doubts there will be losses, but they are making steady progress. Something that must anger fascists everywhere.

How do you know that wasn't the locals removing invaders and traitors on their own?

4 ( +8 / -4 )

I see that our Kremlin supporters, who can apparently see into the future, are sharing their dim views of Ukraine's future. Cheer up guys; Ukraine is fighting for a better future, not a worse one.

Thirty years of independence - sovereignty, territory and population lost. Country decimated and taking handouts from Uncle Sam.

And who's fault is that? Some pint sized midget who decided he needed to be a tzar.

The Donbass want him fried.

I thought the Donbass was eternal Russian soil now? More like Ukraine wants every Russian fried and it will take a long time and a lot of money to kill 44 million with Kalibr missiles.

What's there to celebrate?

Not being enslaved for one.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Russia will be bogged down in Ukraine for eternity.

Can’t win, can’t lose.

Russia is a failed state which will be broken up within a decade.

Volodymyr and co have ruined UA for good.

Still Putin's War

once this conflict will end by peace negotiations and guess what-UA position will be much more weaker than its now.

And how will Russia miracle itself to competance on the battlefield? Ukraine has mines too and Russia probably lost the maps to cross their own.

Russias position will be very different from one they had during Misnk agreements times.

Russia wasn't a party to the Minsk agreements and launched a deceitful surprise invasion. Any ceasefire will be accompanied by every piece of NATO hardware in production on the border as a result.

country will be never back in its borders from 2013.

And Russia will never have peace.

parts may be in Russia, parts may be in Poland or they may be created some "New Ukraine" without Black Sea ports.

How is Russia going to miracle itself into Odessa? It blew up the dam which was the last roadway.

russian speaking eastern parts of it will never bow on front of bandera junta from Kiev

The easterners already slavishly bow to Moscow. The ones that aren't planting car bombs as we speak that is.

UA will loose for good own natural resources.no blacksea ports,no coal from Donbass,no heavy industry.but will have nice forest in west Carpathia region so may attract some tourists...?

Again, Odessa, 90% of territory, and all major cities remain in Ukrainian hands. You'd be surprised what people can do economically when they aren't enslaved to an isolated thug regime.

dont need to mention departure of masses of people as they will see no future for them in failed bandera regime country...

Banderas are at least patriots, which is more than we can say for the Putin fascist.

Next it is long but

Here is the same guy fighting for Ukraine, remember that he is in Ukraine fighting for Ukraine.

Listen to what he is saying about corruption, disregard for soldiers and civilian lives, etc...

This is the reality not the propaganda we are being fed like this article.

This guy's identity and role was confirmed by Will and ABC News Australia, so don't try calling him a Putin lover or Russian supporter.

Ah yes, the only reasonable thing to do is to stop helping Ukraine so that the Fascists take over Ukraine. lol

Instead of snark comments why not try and read the article from ABC News and watch the guys video and see what he has to say!

He is the one out there right now fighting for what you say is necessary, not you!

I did read it. Not a lot of details. Anything to discredit the Ukrainians fighting to defend their independence from imperialist Russia.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

I agree Stepan Bandera is a fascist, war criminal and nazi collaborator. He was directly responsible for ethnic cleansing on a grand scale.

And yet the Polish are helping the Ukrainians- not Russia. Weird how the pro-invasion crowd overlooks that. Anything to justify Russian aggression.

More ham-handed Russian false flag ops...Putin kills more of his own citizens than Ukraine does...

And yesterday we see Prigozhin glad-handing around Putin's Africa Summit...the mutineer who revolted against Putin and killed Russian soldiers is evidently welcome to walk around Putin's state functions....

Try watching his interview!

He goes into far more details.

And try to remember before throwing ins...ts he is risking his life, Will OAM has already done his duty to Australia, is dying from a brain tumor and is clearly pro Ukraine,

Both have done more than most here who are far to eager to criticize them!

I don't care. It doesn't justify not helping Ukraine. It doesn't justify Russia invading, and no silly interview is going to prove otherwise.

Great way to be informed, don't watch, read or listen to anything you don't like or want to hear.

It doesn't justify not helping Ukraine. It doesn't justify Russia invading, and no silly interview is going to prove otherwise

But it does! If as this guy is saying is true, equipment being sent is not being used correctly, disappearing never to be seen again (not in battle) money going missing, troops being sent on suicide missions to get ride of those pointing out corruption, then it does matter because that is what you and western governments and Media say Russia is doing and criticize Russia for doing. Suddenly we find out Ukraine is also doing it, and now it doesn't matter,

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

Oh.. for crying out loud...for how much longer must we endure this putrid bile rhetoric false narrative that little innocent Ukraine was just attacked by Russia for absolutely no justifiable cause but Russian imperialism.

How much longer must we read nonsensical justifications for Russian imperialism?

Granted Russia didn't need to invade Ukraine.

"Didn't need to?" That's quite the understatement. Tens of thousands of Ukrainians killed, millions more homeless, and wounded.

But don't say Ukraine is innocent in all this because that's crap.

They are, though. You don't have to like it, but nothing Ukraine did justified the invasion.

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Great way to be informed, don't watch, read or listen to anything you don't like or want to hear.

Lol I did read it. I was very clear about that.

But it does!

No it doesn't! You can maybe there needs to be more training, but what is alleged doesn't justify doing nothing so the the fascist Putin regime takes over the country.

Media say Russia is doing and criticize Russia for doing.

lol Nonsense. I'm opposed to Russia invading because it's wrong to invade, not because they're corrupt.

Suddenly we find out Ukraine is also doing it, and now it doesn't matter,

Suddenly nothing. This is the latest in a long line of attempts to discredit the Ukrainian government. It doesn't matter, because it justify doing nothing so the Russian government takes over Ukraine.

1 ( +6 / -5 )

At this point, I'm neither on Russia's nor Ukraine's side.

Far as I'm concerned, lots of people are being killed over pieces of land that have about as much scenic appeal as an abandoned lot.

Just seems like stubborn national pride on both sides at this point.

Uh, you must endure hearing the truth forever.

This spat between Ukraine and Russia goes back to the reign of Catherine the great and then the Soviets demise due to democracy implosion implemented by the west.

Poor Russia. Perhaps don't form a corrupt metastate in the first place.

Granted Russia didn't need to invade Ukraine.

But don't say Ukraine is innocent in all this because that's crap

You should have just stopped at "Russia didn't need to invade Ukraine". The act was also illegal according to international law.
