Last time I asked, almost all the spider crab (zuigani) in Japan came from Russia. So I guess the prices will go up?
Stephen Chin
Banning seafood because of release of nuclear-poisoned water into the Pacific Ocean? Only Russia? Why not countries in the whole world?
And the poisoning of the Pacific will not only poison the greatest ocean on our planet. All oceans are interconnected. Any the poisoning of the oceans of the world will not be for one day, or one week, or one month, or one year. It will be for forty 40 yeras!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stephen Chin
40 YEARS!!!!
Rodney
Nobody should eat seafood in this area for over 20 years and japan should pay 3 trillion dollars compensation to these countries.
TaiwanIsNotChina
Well Russia committed grand larceny of whole islands, so their compensation is out.
Roy Sophveason
Why only 40 years?
Why only 20 years?
Why only 3 trillion dollars?

Interesting move on Russia's part. But, why is Japan even trading with them? That is hardly a show of support to Ukraine. People in these countries should learn a lesson from Vietnam and breed shrimp, etc. in farms. Relying on the ocean is too risky because of radiation, climate change, and aggressive behavior of the CCP's navy.
ian
Yes all countries that discharge nuclear wastes into the oceans should pay compensation.
Maybe pay into a common fund according to how much they discharge.

Russia is the country that has dumped the most highly radioactive waste into the ocean. Russia has several thousand nuclear objects dumped on its Arctic sea floor.

Who cares what this murderous regime has to say about this?
Zoroto
I thought Japan stopped exporting food to Russia already?
Zoroto
This article is about Russia and Japan. Ukraine is not involved.
Fighto!
Neighbouring countries are only raising "concerns" for political reasons. It is a shameful attempt to try and embarrass the country they are jealous of and hate - Japan.
Places like Fascist Russia, Communist China and South Korea dump nuclear waste into the sea infinitely more radioactive than Japan is doing with their treated water. Fact.

normal reaction and expected one.
i see nothing wrong with that.
soon you may have nice sushi here with discount and some "fukushima flavour" as bonus...

“40 YEARS!!!!”
Tritium, a radioisotope made up of one proton and two neutrons, has a half life of 12.33 years. It releases electrons and changes into helium 3.

I just bought three bananas at the supermarket. I’m doomed.
Forget the forever chemicals, lead, arsenic, brake dust and plastic bags. This is a radioactive banana emergency!

So the country that is literally putting bombs on the rooves of nuclear reactors is now concerned about nuclear safety, is it?
gkamburoff
In 1979 I did checks of GE Mark I BWRs like in Fukushima, and was concerned a little.
But these releases are much less than is normally dumped into waters by commercial nuclear powerplants.
Rodney
you do know that Russia defeated the fascist Nazis and China is a developing capitalist country. And both them and SK actually care about their citizens. Please google 45% of US tap water is UN drinkable and causes multiple health injuries including death. If you have internet and not just cable TV.
Larr Flint
Russia has plenty of experience with dealing with radioactive waste as they had Chernobyl disaster and know the influence of radioactive waste on environment and people better than other nations.
FourIce
Hey Guys, do we know when Japan specifically started releasing? I could see the reports about it but no specic date it started.
Is it only me not seeing it or is it deliberately hidden?
Peter Neil
You think people here may not have an Internet connection? Oh my.
CKAI
Of course they do. So obvious. Is this Local news?
Or is this some us vs them mind trick?
Team CCPutin dont like it so… like it!
Or dont. And be on team CCPutin??
How about, NO. Tap tapity tap and try again.
CKAI
LOL Sounds bananas to me.

We got China and Rusia's food ban. We got South Korea relations destroyed.
Good job, TEPCO !
Roy Sophveason
Yup, we do.
They didn't.
Kaowaiinekochanknaw
Who cares what this murderous regime has to say about this?
Japanese fisheries and exporters who rely on exports for their living, I guess.
wallace
TEPCO will release 25TBq/year of Tritium.
Roy Sophveason
By comparing it.
One can measure what it contains and how much of everything it contains. Is this news to you?
TaiwanIsNotChina
You can't even get your facts straight: 45% have forever chemicals that MIGHT cause health problems. You will never here about these chemicals from Fascist Russia or Communist China but they have them as well.
TaiwanIsNotChina
Military test sites kill very few people and the others are down to personal choice. Nobody needs a paternalistic despot, they need a government that doesn't send them to war, lock them up, or kill them unnecessarily.
lunatic
Japan is not better than China or Russia. All Asia is more of the same. All of it.
OssanAmerica
Japan should just stop buying seafood from Russia. There is nothing they offer Japan that the United States (Alaska) can't supply.
