President Sebastian Coe said at the time that deaths and destruction in Ukraine have only “hardened” his resolve to keep a ban in place.

Athletics/Track & Field have stood strong. For once, I applaud Mr. Coe.

As an added aside : less Russians = less doping. Fact.

Keep the trash out.

dont mix political views and sport.

if you want ban Russia because of political stance-do it for 100%,if you wanna be an independent allow ALL Russians to compete everywhere.

Ok. But Russia, from a sports view, is a country of cheaters. They ran a state-sponsored doping program of their athletes at Sochi olympics. They cannot be trusted to compete in sport anymore, they aren't interested in competition, they are interested in cheating to win.

Drugs, unlawful invasion of independent countries, supporting aggressors, and countries not respecting individual rights and freedom. They should all be excluded not just the Olympics, but all sporting events.

Way, way, way...too much a blanket statement. And false in its entirety of accusatory tone.

While their birth country has created negatives, there are hockey players in the NHL in large numbers who are Russian. It's a stress point for them to have players who disagree with Putin, but cannot say anything negative due to the fact their families can be threatened in their homeland.

The Russian players are not particularly bad people, nor drug users, as far as the NHL knows. I know that some are hugely respected teammates and many Russian players who were allowed to play in the 90's show a legacy of coaching and progeny who are important to the sport.

So while there are some bad things that went on with Russian sports, it's wrong to believe it's all bad.

Russians to the Olympics.. Great!!..

with added outside testing, no flags or anthems to be played, I would be pleased at how many medals they can even win, let alone compete.

Russia is a systematic doping nation, not even taking into consideration their war mongering

Russians athletes can ,,as long as they pass doping test in a third nation, they qualify for their events and the dont fly the Russian flag or play the Russian anthem. Not many Russians want to do this as itll pee off Putin and other Russians

Why is Belarus not able to compete? Because they think differently (say they support putin)? When did thoughts and opinions become grounds to ban people from the olympics? A certain German leader of the 1930s would be proud.

Sebastian Coe is a right wing extremists who bows down to the U.K. and USA regimes. He tries hard to overturn Tom Bach’s wishes in that all athletes should be allowed.

Shame on Coe and the bigots that support his vile views.
